When Austin and his companions arrived at the black mountain, streaks of lightning rained down from the sky.
Jagged bolts endlessly poured, filling the air with undying flashes of radiance.
The power it brought was too terrifying!
Each of them was as thick as a dragon, much larger than the mountains on the ground.
Thunder cried out from the blackened sky, the clouds invisible above.
Austin shuddered, as he shifted his gaze skyward. The booming thunder seamed to crack the air as if the very heavens might split apart.
Along with his companions, Austin scanned the ground and noticed the countless scorched bodies lying everywhere.
There were even some spots that had heaps of corpses in them!
Some of them still had their skin and flesh intact, while some of them had long been rotten and were left with nothing but their skeleton.
From afar, the mountain looked like an obsidian graveyard littered with dead bodies.
All of the corpses were burned black like charcoal.
They could easily tell that these people died due to the powerful lightning strikes.
To make sure that they stayed safe from these bolts, Austin decided to summon one of his skills. He pointed at the ground as he recited a chant. In a matter of seconds, a tremendous amount of Earth Energy rose from the terrain.
Dozens of earth dragons previously tamed by Austin ascended out from the ground. They all soared in different directions.
Soon after, shadows of four legendary beasts—a green dragon, a white tiger, a vermilion bird and a black tortoise—appeared above Austin's head.
It was the Four Beasts Geomancy Array.
Austin was able to set up a few arrays using his knowledge of Earth Exploring Technique, and the Four Beasts Geomancy Array was one of them.
The shadows cast by these creatures protected Austin and his friends.
"Hurry up. Let's get out of here!"
Austin gestured for them to follow him.
During that time, the Geomancy Compass, the Layne's Ruler, and the Reincarnation Token were all emitting golden lights, floating above to protect Austin and his companions.
After a while, they had safely escaped from the black mountain and its tumultuous weathers.
As soon as they got out, the lightning immediately disappeared.
"Those flashes of lightning scared the hell out of me," Magee commented.
The rest of them felt the same—they could still feel the adrenaline from getting away in the black mountain.
Without saying a word, Austin still had his eyes fixed on the mountain.
The Geomancy Compass floated in front of Austin, and the golden needle was still pointing at the stone coffin at the top of the black mountain.
"This is the Thunder Mountain. I assume that the upper half of this black mountain disappeared due to the thunderbolts."
Austin broke his silence after staring at it long and hard.
"The Thunder Mountain?" Otis repeated, puzzled.
The other divine gods were just as confused.
"The Thunder Mountain is a natural land of death," Austin replied. Seeing that everyone was waiting for him to expound further, he explained its nature further.
"The chaotic thunder stone, which is also known as the thunder-gathering stone is buried at the bottom of the Thunder Mountain.
This stone was born in the chaos. It could gather all kinds of thunder, and even produce it.
It is a very rare item.
I'm guessing that there must be plenty of chaotic thunder stones buried beneath the black mountain.
Therefore, once outsiders set foot in the black mountain, they would release energy unintentionally that disrupts the balance of the energy on the black mountain. That incurs thunderbolts,"
Austin clarified.
"I see."
The divine gods nodded their heads in understanding.
"Austin, is that a part of the knowledge of Earth Exploring Technique?"
Tyrone asked out of curiosity.
"Yes. The Thunder Mountain is a very typical land of death identified by the Earth Exploring Technique.
It is one of the top ten lands of death.
Because thunder is one of the most powerful and destructive energy in the world,"
Austin answered.
"The Earth Exploring Technique is remarkable!
No wonder the Earth Masters during the ancient times were incredibly powerful.
It's a good thing I met you, Austin.
