True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 1144

Maria felt like crying even more after hearing what she said. In confusion, she stared at her grandmother questioningly.

Nerissa immediately looked down at her granddaughter and comforted her. "The most difficult thing for a woman is definitely childbirth. It was even more difficult for your Mommy since she was single. So, it really required a lot of endurance on her part. It's fine if you don't understand it now. You can be forgiven for your lack of understanding, but you shouldn't hold a grudge against her. Once you grow older, you'll eventually understand how difficult it must have been for her."

"It’s just that you and your Daddy don't seem to be very capable. If you guys were capable, then you would have been able to come back with your Mommy. I mean, your family can't just remain separated like that."

"Grandma, whose side are you on? Do you still have any principles? Your son was playing around and yet you're criticizing him instead of helping him. Now, you don't even want to help me, your granddaughter, as well. What has happened to your grandmotherly love?" Maria blurted these out in one go.

Nerissa smiled helplessly and said with a sigh, "Of course, Grandma wishes you and your Dad the best. That's why I'm hoping for your family to be reunited, since that's the best thing that can happen for you guys."

"Grandma, I can't see where you're coming from." Maria told her the truth.

"You were born with a stupid Dad and yet you still aren't helping him solve his conflict with your Mommy. It looks like it's going to take forever for your parents to finally reconcile."

"I won't help them anymore. I want to sleep now. Grandma, let's go to bed." Maria held Nerissa's hand and walked into the house.

Zachary was about to enter the house as well.

However, Nerissa closed the door as soon as she entered the house.

Zachary, who was walking behind them, almost walked into the door and was moments away from hurting his own nose. He looked at the door that was now shut in dismay, as he touched his nose that almost got banged.

He could hear his mother and daughter speaking from the inside.

"Grandma, why did you close the door?"

"Of course I have to leave your Daddy outside. Do you really want him to remain single forever?"

Maria was also very smart and immediately understood what she meant. "Grandma, are you trying to say that you want to make him look for my Mommy again and not come back for the night?"

"Of course, my granddaughter is so smart." Nerissa praised her. "You're so much smarter than your Daddy."

Zachary was startled and he remained in the same spot for a long time.

Was it appropriate for him to return to Yvonne's place at this hour?

He had left her place twice in the same day. Should he still go back tonight?

He felt troubled as he thought to himself, "I'd better forget about it."

Knocking on the door, Zachary said, "Mom, please open the door for me."

Nerissa refused immediately. "No way, Don't come home until you find your wife. Our house is too quiet. An old woman like me doesn't even have a daughter-in-law that I can talk to. Hurry and come back with her."

"Mom, open the door first." Zachary said again, "It's not appropriate for me to go over for now!"

"Cut the crap. Hurry up and head to where you're supposed to be." Nerissa interrupted her son's words impolitely. "Don't come back if you can't find a wife, okay?"

Zachary felt very helpless. After waiting for a long time, the door remained closed. Left with no other choice, he finally left in his car.

When his car left, Nerissa opened the door to check and ensure that he had left. She sighed in relief. "He has finally left."

"Grandma, is it really appropriate to let my Dad look for her in such a hurry?" Maria wasn't very supportive of her decision. "I still think that my Mom should be left alone for a period of time, so that she understands how it feels like. This way, she will be able to understand how to appreciate things and people more, and that relationships don't come by easily."

Maria said a lot of things while gritting her teeth, making Nerissa unsure of whether she was supposed to laugh or to cry.

"That's your Mommy. She'll definitely be heartbroken if she ever heard you saying that."

"Does she have a heart? If she did have a heart, then why would she abandon me for so long? Is there such a Mom like that in the entire world? Grandma, you're a true Mom. Look at how happy

my Daddy is."

Nerissa sighed, patted Maria's hair and said, "You don't want to admit what you're thinking of, but deep down you're the one who's hoping for her to come back the most. It's all the better if she can give birth to a new brother or sister, right?"
