"Are you afraid of betraying Heinz?" He pressed his face against hers with his breath brushing her face. Word by word, he said, "Are you afraid that I'll blame Heinz for being loquacious?"
Yvonne didn't say anything, but it was considered a tacit approval.
"You stick to your principles for others, but you don't care about what kind of pain your daughter is suffering, right?"
Yvonne was stunned.
She pursed her lips and shook her head as she looked at Zachary.
Zachary looked down at her as well, with hostility in his eyes.
Yvonne still shook her head. However, she knew that if she did not say anything at this moment, she would truly anger Zachary.
"Zachary, please believe me. You and Maria are the most important people in my heart."
Her quavering voice drifted into his ears clearly.
Zachary's eyes were full of malice as he looked at her with a burning gaze.
The emotions in his eyes were frightening.
The faint pulsating light in his eyes carrying utmost momentum was appalling.
"Haha." Zachary laughed bitterly. There was no sarcasm but only sadness. As Yvonne heard his forceful laughter, her heart tightened again.
He didn't believe her.
Yvonne understood that he didn't trust her.
His attitude, tone, and laughter made her feel suffocated and overwhelmed.
"Zachary, I really have my predicaments," Yvonne whispered, her hand gently clutching the collar of his suit as she looked at him with a complicated expression, "It was all my fault before. I truly want to be with you now. Please don't ask me about the past, alright?"
"Shut up." Zachary rebuked in a low voice.
"No." Yvonne shook her head and looked at him, "You will only torment yourself if I shut up. Zachary, I don't want you to harm yourself because of me."
"Shut up." He refuted her, and his tone was sharp, "Who do you think you are? I'm tormenting myself because of you?"
"That's right. I'm certain that you'll torture yourself because of me." She stared at him, her gaze filled with persistence. She was using her own methods to prove that he was lying.
Zachary did not want to admit it.
However, Yvonne found his weak spot.
She looked him in the eyes and uttered word by word, "Zachary, this is evidence. Whether you admit it or not, every time you approach me, you act like this. I didn't expect you to still be so attracted to me."
Zachary suddenly panicked.
He felt terror as if he had his worries exposed. His face flushed red, and he wanted to step back to distance himself from Yvonne, but she held onto his clothes tightly with one hand and forbade him from retreating.
"Zachary, you can't deny it." She fixed her gaze on Zachary's eyes and said bravely, "You still have feelings for me."
Zachary's eyes instantly turned bloodshot. He glared hatefully at Yvonne, and the emotions in his eyes made Yvonne feel a faint sense of fear.
"Yvonne." Zachary suddenly picked her up and pressed her against the door.
The door in Zachary's office was heavy, and Yvonne was trapped between the door and him, she could not escape.
"Yvonne Attwood, do you think it's impossible for me to handle you here?"
Yvonne's heart thumped wildly as she held her breath.
His words caused Yvonne to blush. She was slightly shy and didn't dare stare into his eyes.
Because the emotions in his eyes were in a state of chaos.
"You think you can provoke me so easily?" He opened his mouth again, and his breath was unstable, "Do you think that you can tease me and nothing will hold me back?"
"No!" She immediately denied, "Zachary, we were classmates. I know you."
"Huh!" Zachary sneered, "You know me? Do you really know me?"
Yvonne hesitated for a bit, but she still nodded her head solemnly. She pursed her lips, and her expression was incomparably serious, "Yes, I do know you."
Zachary's eyes were full of rage, and the hostility of him wanting to tear Yvonne apart gathered at the bottom of his eyes. He was furious.
