True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 1163

"No." Yvonne admitted frankly, "I've never thought so. It's just that I want to be shameless and pursue you again. I was wrong in the past, so I deserved to be ridiculed by you. If it makes you happy, you can ridicule me even more. I can handle it."

Those words instantly silenced Zachary.

Ridicule her?

If he lightly reprimanded her, he would feel irritated, but his heart would ache if he berated her harshly.

He stared coldly at Yvonne. After a long daze, he picked up his cutlery and began to eat without saying a word.

He couldn't bear to do that to her.

Yvonne felt warmth in her heart. Once again, she was certain that Zachary couldn't bear to make her sad.

He was just a man that was cold on the outside but warm on the inside.

Looking at him, Yvonne gave a faint smile. There was no trace of grievance in her eyes as it was only left with relief.

This made Zachary shift his gaze away not to look at her while feeling annoyed.

After a moment of silence, Zachary picked up his cutlery and ate quietly.

When Yvonne saw that he had started to eat, she let out a sigh of relief as well.

She was already full, so she waited for Zachary to finish his meal.

Zachary remained composed the entire time. After he was done eating, he placed his cutlery on the table and wiped his mouth with a napkin as he lifted his eyes to look at Yvonne.

Yvonne was looking at Zachary as well.

They remained silent for a long while before Yvonne spoke, "Now that we' re done, shall we head back to the company?"

Zachary shook his head.

Yvonne was dumbfounded. She didn't know what Zachary had in mind.

She took a look at her watch. She had to go back to work at half- past one. It was already past noon and there were only forty minutes left.

"We're going to the school," Zachary said when he stood up and went to pay the bill.

Yvonne was shocked, and she immediately became nervous, "Zachary, do you mean that we're going to visit Maria?"

Zachary nodded, "Yes."

Although she was shocked, Yvonne was still pleasantly surprised. With the way her daughter had treated her the day before, she was unsure of what to do.

Heinz's words earlier that day still echoed in her ears.

Maria lacked love.

Yvonne's heart tightened, and she felt great pain.

"Zachary, should I prepare something beforehand?" She asked nervously.

Zachary looked at her without saying anything.

Yvonne could only follow him. After getting in the car, Zachary opened his mouth to speak, "What do you think Maria needs the most?"

Yvonne pursed her lips and spat out a word with difficulty, "Love."

Zachary's gaze sank, and he said softly, "Not bad, at least you still know."

How could she not?

What that child lacked the most was love.

A father's love, a mother's love, a family's love.

But the child treated her like a stranger now that

she had come back.

Right then, she felt as if her heart was being torn apart, but she also knew that it was all her fault.

"Let's go and visit Maria."
