But Xandra liked President Lowe too much. Since the first day she came here to work as his secretary, she had fallen in love with him.
However, he never took a second look at women.
Yet Yvonne had not come out of his office for such a long time.
It didn't take a genius to figure out what had happened between the president and Yvonne.
The words she used to comfort herself were now slapping her in the face. It was so cruel, and the relationship between the president and Yvonne seemed to be very complicated.
Could there really be a special relationship between them?
Faced with Zachary's attitude, Xandra was stunned and gathered her courage. "President, I want to, I want to talk to you privately about something."
Zachary didn't even look at her. He was very cold.
Xandra pursed her lips tightly when she saw his attitude. Tears quickly welled up in her eyes, she felt like crying.
Seeing this, Isabelle quickly reached out to pull Xandra's hand, indicating that she should shut up.
But Xandra still blurted out, "President, there are words that I have been holding in my heart for a long time. I want to tell you."
Zachary glanced at her, and his eyes became colder. He looked at her and said in a low voice, "Is it a business matter or a personal matter?"
Isabelle continued to pull Xandra's hand and motioned her again not to say it out.
Xandra ignored Isabelle and said to Zachary, "It's a personal matter."
Zachary said in a deep voice, "I'm not interested in your personal affairs. My wife is hungry."
"Wife?"
"Wife?"
Both Xandra and Isabelle cried out in surprise. Their eyes were wide open with incredulity.
Zachary said to them, "Yvonne is my wife and the mother of my child."
The news came to Xandra and Isabelle's ears like a bolt from the blue. They looked at Zachary in astonishment and could not believe what they had heard.
Zachary glanced at the two people who became quiet but did not explain further.
It took Xandra and Isabelle a long time to come to their senses. They packed up their things and left quickly.
Downstairs.
Xandra sat by the bench, covered her head with her hand, and murmured, "Isabelle, did you hear that? The president just said that Yvonne was his wife. His wife. The mother of his child? They already have a child. Did you hear that?"
Until now, Xandra still couldn't believe her ears, she couldn't believe what she heard.
Isabelle was stunned too. She nodded and said with a sigh, "I told you the president won't have feelings for women like us. Don't think much about it. Not everyone can become Cinderella, so just give up."
"Haha." Xandra laughed at herself. "You're right. My dreams were crushed in an instant."
Isabelle turned to look at her. "All right, just forget about him. We should fall in love, find an ordinary man and marry him. You should stop fantasizing about him. He's not ours."
"He already has a family." Xandra silently twitched the corners of her lips and mocked herself for fantasizing about him for so long.
She couldn't help but burst into tears.
Those dreamlike days were simply beautiful. They were filled with anticipation at the very least.
Now, all the anticipation was gone, and everything shattered.
She couldn't even dream anymore.
They looked up at the building together and their hearts were still unwilling to let go, but they still got up and left.
In Zachary's office.
Zachary ordered takeout, and soon someone came to deliver the food.
