"Huh! Zachary, Yvonne, how could you guys be so affectionate in front of a single person like me? You guys have gone too far." Renee said with a smile. "Please take care of the third wheel's feelings."
Zachary looked over to Renee and replied blandly, "Since you're Yvonne's best friend, you should understand that her happiness had not come easily. Shouldn't you bear with it, and congratulate your best friend?"
"Cough, cough, cough!" Renee almost choked on her coffee.
She looked at Zachary in bewilderment.
When did Zachary, a handsome and bright young man, become such a person? He was so straightforward.
Yvonne was also stunned.
Renee, however, started to laugh. "You're right, Zachary. I should be giving you my blessings. I'm really happy for the both of you."
Zachary glanced at her calmly. If he had known that Renee and Yvonne were such good friends, he would have sent someone to investigate her.
Unfortunately, he was distraught back then, and his heart grew cold. He went abroad and returned as a changed man.
However, fortunately, he found Yvonne again.
"Zachary, Yvonne." Renee looked at them seriously and said, "You guys have to be happy. You have to stay very, very happy."
"We will," Zachary replied firmly.
Yvonne looked at Zachary's profile in a daze. She felt that he looked even more earnest and determined when he said his promise.
She felt slightly panicked. She didn't know why, but her heart started beating like crazy.
It was not a joke.
Renee nodded, stood up, and said to them, "I'm relieved to hear your promise with my own ears. I'm leaving now. I don't want to be the third wheel anymore. Remember to send me an invitation to the wedding. I will attend no matter what."
"No problem," Zachary responded in a deep voice.
Renee left just like that; she headed to the departure hall to wait for her flight.
Yvonne and Zachary sat in the coffee shop together.
Yvonne remained silent before she said softly, "I didn't leave, I really didn't leave. I just came out to meet Renee."
"You already told me," Zachary replied. "I also already know."
Yvonne nodded, placing her hands on her knees.
She looked at her hands and didn't move for a long time.
Zachary stretched out his hands and gently covered Yvonne's. His palms were warm, and there was a little bit of sweat on them.
Yvonne was taken aback. She raised her head and looked at the man next to her.
"You need to inform me no matter where you go in the future. Give me a call." Zachary looked at her.
"Okay, I thought you were meeting an important client, so I didn't dare to disturb you," Yvonne explained softly. "But I told Aidan about it."
"No matter how busy I am, call me," Zachary repeated. "Fortunately, you told Aidan. Otherwise, I would have been angry."
In fact, he was not only angry but also scared.
A lot of emotions surged in his heart the moment she was gone. His mind was in a state of chaos.
He was afraid that she would leave for a long time again.
"Okay." Yvonne looked at him in a daze, and after a few seconds, she nodded her head seriously.
"It'll be good if you're always this obedient." Zachary reached out his hand and wrapped her in his arms; a faint smile was evident in his eyes.
Yvonne felt that it was not appropriate to act so intimately in public.
"Zachary, don't be like this." She quickly blocked his arms, afraid that others would see them.
"Be like what?" He asked in amusement.
