Gary narrowed his eyes, his anger overflowing from his pupils. He then chuckled and mocked lightly, "You're indeed too naive. You're ridiculously naive. You're a fool. Celeste, you're a fool."
All of a sudden, Celeste's mind started to spiral down into confusion.
She didn't know what had happened.
"Yes, I admit that sometimes, I can't understand what is going on in your mind. I'm just here to ask, are you willing to follow me and Ernest to study abroad?" Celeste suddenly found the courage to question Gary back. She was initially afraid of him but out of the blue, she was bold enough to shoot back at him.
Gary lowered his gaze, her stubborn face still reflected in his pupils. Her back was straight but stiff, and her fragile shoulders were collapsing from the pressure he had caused to her. However, she looked gorgeously determined.
Her slender neck and small, round face made her look even more delicate.
The next second, he raised his hand and reached out to her.
Celeste was taken aback and stepped back subconsciously.
Gary's hand was suspended in mid- air and he froze.
His taut skin and cleanly-cut fingernails indicated that he was clean and healthy. With long, bony fingers and distinct joints, his hand looked like a work of art.
He looked extremely stylish with that handsome face of his.
However, his hand was suspended mid-air and he did not retract it. He just stared at her for a good few seconds before lowering his arm.
Celeste swallowed a mouthful of saliva and asked, "Will you promise me?"
Gary smiled and answered, "Celeste, what if I refuse to?"
"Then, then I'll go to England with Ernest," She blurted out.
Gary's pupils dilated once again, and then he started laughing out loud. However, his laughter sounded extremely lonely.
He placed his hands into his pocket, looking extremely calm on the surface. However, no one knew how his fists were tightened in his pockets.
Then, Gary turned around and left.
He didn't look at Celeste again.
"Gary, you said to wait for you after school. I'll be waiting for you so we can talk about it," Celeste called after him.
However, Gary didn't answer her.
Celeste had a hunch that he was not going to show up.
As expected.
An hour later.
After school ended.
The students in the laboratory were having extra classes.
Meanwhile, Gary had already packed up his bag and left.
Since they were already the batch of students who were going abroad, his teacher wasn't planning to force him to follow the school rules.
Gary stood up. He swung his bag over his shoulder and left.
Just then, Celeste also got up and packed up her things.
She was still determined to persuade Gary for the sake of their friendship.
However, by the time she finished packing, Gary was nowhere to be seen.
She called him, but his phone was switched off.
After that, she went to the school gate to look for him, but he was nowhere to be seen.
At the gate, she felt slightly depressed.
She turned around and saw Ernest's handsome face. There was still a smile on his face.
