Soon, Liam's driver came to pick Celeste up. It was the same driver that Celeste had seen yesterday.
Liam didn't come, and neither did Cindy.
Just like that, Celeste was taken away.
After that, Ernest and Maria had breakfast together.
The two of them kept exchanging glances. Maria asked after some time, "Hey, Ernest, do you think Celeste will be taken away by someone? Is the one who came to pick her up Liam's driver?"
"Yes," Ernest glanced at her and said, "What on earth are you thinking? Would Celeste have left if that wasn't Liam's driver?"
"Celeste is just unprepared. That's why I'm worried," Maria sighed, "I've never seen Liam's driver before."
"I've seen him, and I can assure you that he is the driver," Ernest replied, "It's precisely because I've seen him that I can set my mind at ease and let Celeste go with him." "Oh," Maria was relieved. She finally relaxed and smiled at Ernest. "That's good to hear."
Ernest lowered his head to eat. He didn't seem to have much appetite seeing as he couldn't eat much at all.
Maria looked at him secretly several times. He was only eating a little and looked like he had a lot of worries on his mind. Maria couldn't help but tease him, "Ernest, eat some more. You don't need to abuse your stomach."
Without paying any attention to Maria, Ernest put down his cutlery.
Maria saw him like this and continued, "Earnest, are you worried about Celeste and Liam? Or are you worried about something else?"
"Aren't you worried?" Ernest looked up and met Maria's gaze. His eyes were sharp.
Maria was stunned and quickly shook her head, explaining, "I'm not worried. This is just a rumor. Besides, only those who are familiar with Celeste know that she's the person in the news. We're in London, so it's difficult for people to find out about her."
"That's what you think," Ernest was solemn. He looked a lot more livid than before.
Maria felt anxious after hearing what Ernest had to say. She frowned and asked, "Ernest, do you mean that Celeste is still in danger?"
"Don't look down on the paparazzi's ability. Most are able to lie in hiding for half a year to a year just to get some juicy scoop on a particular idol or actor. Liam was spotted by reporters in London. Just think about it. Do you think it is just a coincidence?"
Maria swallowed her saliva and was a little confused.
Ernest's worry and analysis really hit Maria in all the right spots. She immediately lost her appetite.
She frowned out of worry. "Then what should we do? If Celeste is discovered, wouldn't she be completely void of privacy?"
"That depends on how Liam deals with it," With a heavy look, Ernest thought for a while and didn't continue saying anything.
Maria saw his gloomy expression and furrowed brows. Ernest was obviously young and handsome, but the predicament Celeste was in now made him look mature and solemn.
It seemed that Ernest's worries were real.
This was really a problematic situation.
Maria also grew nervous. She stood up quickly and paced back and forth in the dining room. She was not in the mood to eat at all.
"Sit down," Ernest was even more annoyed by her pacing, "Stop dilly-dallying." "I can't sit still," Maria complained, "If I had known this would happen, I wouldn't have gone there with Celeste. I shouldn't have let her go like this."
Ernest looked at her and commented dryly, "One only realizes their mistakes after committing them."
Maria pouted and shot back, "Why don't you call Liam and ask him what they're going to do? Aren't you friends with him?"
Ernest shook his head and sighed, "They must be very busy now. They can't help us. The best we can do is not to create more trouble for them."
"What should we do then? Just sit and wait?" Maria asked.
Ernest looked at her coldly and asked, "Can you sit down first?"
"No," Maria shook her head and continued to pace back and forth.
Ernest rubbed the space between his eyebrows.
Suddenly, the telephone on the table rang.
Maria looked at the phone and found that it was from Gary.
"Oh no, it's Gary. Could it be that he knows about this as well?" Maria looked at Ernest worriedly, "Ernest, if Gary asks about this, what do you think we should do?" "It's up to you," Ernest didn't want to participate in the conversation between Maria and Gary. He got up, walked to the hall, and sat down on the sofa.
Maria glanced at him and frowned. After taking a deep breath, she answered the phone.
"Hi, Gary," Maria tried to make her voice sound as light as usual, "Good morning."
"How much about Celeste and Liam do you know?" Gary was straight to the point.
Maria's heart skipped a beat. It seemed that even Gary, who was in the United States, knew about it.
Maria blinked her eyes in an attempt to phrase her words, "I saw the news just now. It's all just a misunderstanding."
