"If that's the case, you have to tell me what's going on. Or else, I don't think I have the courage to help you through," Alex spread out his arms and looked troubled.
Ernest looked hesitantly at Celeste. Celeste didn't explain things clearly to him, but seeing that she would just leave home silently, it must be something complicated.
Celeste was a girl with a sense of propriety. This time round, things must have turned ugly for her.
"Uncle Logan, you have to help me regardless. Celeste is in a tight spot now," Ernest tried to plead with Alex.
"I know, Young Master Ernest," Alex also looked at Celeste. At first glance, he could tell that this girl had encountered some troubles. Otherwise, she wouldn't just run away from home. However, Alex sighed, "But Young Master Ernest, your classmate has her own guardian. If her guardian sues me, we won't look very promising in court."
When Celeste heard this, anxiety flashed across her face. She could tell that Alex was in a dilemma, and she was also aware that her identity was troubling others.
She couldn't just roam around wherever she wanted to since she was underaged.
Underage teenagers had no right to make that choice.
Her eyes became gloomy and dull. After a long time, she smiled, "Mr. Logan, I'm sorry to bother you. I know you're in a dilemma. It's better if I leave."
"Young lady, don't be impulsive," Alex quickly waved his hand and explained, "It's not that I don't want to help, but I don't know what kind of difficulties you have encountered. You have to make it clear before I can decide how to help you."
Celeste also understood that if she wanted his help, she should have told them how she needed their help.
"Uncle Logan," She thought for a moment and requested, "I need you to help me with my admission procedures. Can you be my temporary guardian or find someone to be my temporary guardian so I can continue my studies? I don't need you to help me pay for my school fees, I can work part-time."
Alex was stupefied. This seemed to be something more serious than he had initially thought it to be.
"Girl, where is your original guardian?" Alex asked in confusion, "I thought you had an aunt?"
Celeste looked at Alex. Initially, she didn't plan to say it, but now, it seemed that she was left with no choice. Hence, she revealed, "My aunt is Cindy White."
Alex was dumbfounded before he realized something. He glanced at Ernest in an instant.
Ernest shrugged. He shot a quick glance at Celeste before looking at Alex, saying, "Celeste, we already know that your aunt is Cindy White. I'm just puzzled. Did you have a fight with your Aunt?"
"We had a huge fight. From now on, she will no longer be my guardian."
"Why?" There were some doubts in Ernest's mind as he asked, "Is it because you came to England to study?"
"No," Celeste shook her head.
Alex also frowned, "Miss Cindy White is a fairly famous actress in the entertainment circle. It shouldn't be a problem for her to support you financially."
"It's not because of the money," Celeste hurriedly explained, "It's not, but there were some other things that happened. She forced me to do something that I didn't want to do and that was morally wrong. Besides, I also thought that we might have been secretly related."
"An illegitimate daughter?" These words flashed in Alex's mind. Then, he stared at Celeste for a moment and explained in a hurry, "I'm sorry, I'm too straightforward."
"It's fine," Celeste shook her head and tried to laugh it off, "I thought I was her illegitimate daughter before too, but it seems that I am wrong."
"You're not?" Ernest was also a little surprised. In truth, both he and Gary thought that Celeste was Cindy's illegitimate daughter.
"No, we went for a DNA test today. The results showed that we are not related by blood."
After a moment of surprise, he nodded and asked, "Why did you guys suddenly go for a DNA test?"
"That's because..." Celeste wanted to tell him but stopped. She looked at them and didn't know how to explain it. In fact, she really didn't want Ernest to know about this matter.
"Is it something you can't say?" Seeing that she was in a dilemma, Ernest didn't want to press for answers. However, if she didn't say anything, it would be difficult for them to help her, "If you really can't tell us, then we won't force you."
"It's just really embarrassing for me to say so," Celeste mustered up her courage, she glanced at Alex then at Ernest. Seconds later, she sighed, "I'm not sure if you guys saw the news from ten years ago."
Ernest was very smart. Quickly, some possibilities flashed through his mind.
"Is it about your aunt and my dad?" He asked tentatively.
Celeste was shocked. She looked at Ernest with widened eyes.
Judging from her reaction, Ernest knew that he was right.
He chuckled, "Looks like this is the problem. I'm also aware that there are rumors regarding your aunt and my dad. In fact, there are even photos as evidence."
Celeste hesitated but still nodded her head and replied, "I have seen those photos for myself, and my aunt has yet to forget about your dad. I feel very ashamed because of that."
Ernest was bewildered and blinked, "Celeste, is it because of this that you had a huge fight with your aunt?"
Celeste nodded.
"Well, then it seems like we are obliged to help you," Ernest smiled and he seemed more relaxed.
