True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 1309

Cindy's expression was even more grim. In a sense, she asked for it.

"Seeing that you are so quiet, I would assume that she has gone missing right?" Heinz probed.

"How do you know that she's missing?" Cindy retorted.

"If she is not missing, then why is she not attending school?" Heinz questioned her back, "Unless the girl my son mentioned is not actually your niece?"

Katherine quickly thought of something and said, "Mr. Jones, Celeste has been staying at home these few days."

"Oh," Heinz chuckled and shot a playful look at Cindy, asking, "Since she is at home, then why don't we have a meal together?"

Cindy was momentarily dumbfounded. She didn't expect Heinz to invite her to a meal in such a situation.

She stared blankly at Heinz, confusion and dismay brewing in her eyes.

"Maybe some other day," Cindy pointed to the house next door and gave an excuse, "I just bought the house next door to yours. When I'm done decorating, you can come over to my house."

"That's pretty close," Heinz glanced at the house next door and said, "Since it's so close, your niece should also be here. Let me ask my son to check on her."

"Celeste doesn't live here," Cindy said hurriedly.

"If she isn't living here nor at her apartment, then where could she possibly be?" Heinz pressed on aggressively.

Cindy froze.

She shot a wary gaze at Heinz, feeling very guilty. She didn't even dare to look into his eyes.

"What's wrong with you, Miss White? Didn't you say that your niece is my son's classmate? But you are at a loss for words now. Could this mean that your niece has really gone really missing?" Heinz stared at Cindy without even blinking. His words made Cindy take a deep breath.

Katherine didn't dare to answer anymore. She didn't even dare to look at Heinz, but she remembered that she had to help Cindy out of obligation.

"Mr. Jones, you must be kidding. Celeste is very close to Miss White. They have such a good relationship."

"Stop acting," Heinz uttered, "Celeste is missing. And If I am correct, you probably didn't even send someone to look for her."

Cindy felt her heart sink. She found the air heavy and thick, and it made it difficult for her to breathe properly.

Her face was even paler.

Grace also looked at her and asked, "Miss White, what's going on? Is my son realy correct? Did Celeste really go missing?"

"What does this have to do with you?" Cindy rebutted.

Heinz raised an eyebrow at her, "It's obvious from your words that she is missing. If she is missing, just make a police report. Alternatively, with your popularity, you can publish on the newspaper that she has gone missing. See, it's easy to look for her."

After hearing this, Cindy was dumbfounded.

If she went to the media, her reputation would be ruined.

"No," She immediately denied it, "This is our business. Mr. Jones, don't worry about it."

"Then what are you doing here?" Heinz chuckled, "Are you just trying to be our neighbors?"

Cindy was stumped again and she couldn't say anything.

It was then that Grace took the opportunity to say, "Miss White, I don't really understand. If your niece is missing, why are you still in the mood to chat with us? If that is really the case, you can't be her guardian. Even if this goes to court, you cannot be Celeste's guardian anymore because you are not qualified. You're not even trying to look for her when she is missing."

"If a lawsuit is really necessary," Heinz stared at Cindy and said coldly, "Grace and I don't mind being the witness to this case."

"Heinz, I think it's better to report this to the police," Grace said to Heinz, "Celeste is a kind girl. If something really happens to her, I am going to feel guilty for my entire life."
