"Not really. I just lack confidence," Celeste's lips curved into a smile, "You know that feeling."
Wasn't he also not confident?
Heinz's eldest son was not confident, let alone her.
"I don't understand," Gary frowned. Was there a difference between having a lack of confidence and being insecure.
He looked at the girl in front of him and saw that she seemed to know everything. He couldn't help but frown and mutter, "Also, don't let me hear you say that I'm not confident or insecure."
Celeste's eyelashes trembled. She opened her mouth but didn't say anything.
However, it was obvious that she did not approve of what he said.
Gary reminded her expressionlessly, "That's not my style."
"Okay," Celeste nodded her head immediately.
Gary looked at her again. He didn't know how she could tell that he wasn't confident.
"It is best that you remember," Gary added, as though reminding her.
"I will," Celeste nodded, her bright eyes staring at him, "I remember."
It would be best if that was the case.
"Well then, let's go downstairs."
"What's the rush?" Gary obviously didn't want to go downstairs yet.
"But we have been here for too long."
"Are we bothering anyone else?" He shot back.
Celeste blinked. Oh well, he was the person to call the shots.
In the hall downstairs.
Ernest sat lazily on the sofa, his back leaning against the cushions. His eyes were closed, and his expression was indifferent. There seemed to be a trace of sadness masked in his eyes.
When Maria went downstairs and saw this, she stood on the second step of the stairs and looked at Ernest from a distance.
It was as if he was asleep.
However, Maria knew that Ernest was awake. He was probably resting with his eyes closed. It was more likely that he was thinking about something.
Judging by her understanding of Ernest for the past couple of years, he would also act as such when he was concerned about something.
It was probably because of Celeste.
Gary, Ernest, and even Liam liked Celeste.
Maria knew that Celeste looked frail and always aroused people's desire to protect her. To be frank, she herself was also attracted to Celeste's aura.
However, at the thought of the fact that Liam also liked Celeste, Maria felt a little disappointed.
Maybe she was just jealous, but she didn't hate Celeste at all.
She was still rational. She knew that this was Liam's own free will, and it had nothing to do with Celeste.
Now, when she looked at Ernest, she thought of herself.
It turned out that she was the same as Ernest. He would always look at someone, but that someone would always look at another person.
This was fate.
Thinking of Liam, Maria's chest felt heavy. Her emotions were rising in her chest, and it made it difficult for her to breathe.
She was really a failure for chasing after an idol like that.
What could she do? She couldn't blame anyone as this path was her choice.
Maria stood there for a while but still went down the stairs towards the sofa.
She knew that Ernest was not asleep. When she walked over, he even raised his eyebrows at her.
Then, Maria sat down on the sofa next to him and said nothing.
