True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 1376

Liam didn't say a word until they finally arrived at a luxurious restaurant.

Even Ernest could see that Liam was in a foul mood.

He was acting very unusually indeed.

When they arrived, Maria got out of the car and looked back at Liam. Instead of getting out of the car in a hurry, he said to Maria, "Miss Lowe, you should go ahead first. I need to have a few words with Ernest."

Maria looked at him and asked, "Did you make a reservation? If you didn't book in advance, I'll go and do it."

"Room A8 on the fourth floor."

Maria closed the door and left.

In the car.

Liam looked at Ernest and asked, "Who's Celeste's boyfriend?"

Ernest was stunned, and there was suspicion in his eyes when he looked at Liam. He asked, "Liam, you're paying so much attention to Celeste. Don't tell me that you feel that way towards...?"

He trailed off and hesitated continuing.

He was afraid to drop the bomb.

Liam immediately shook his head and smiled awkwardly, "Well, Celeste is pitiful. I feel sorry for her, so I pay more attention to her."

"Oh." There was still a dark cloud looming in Ernest's heart and he couldn't be reassured just yet.

"Do you know Celeste's boyfriend?" Liam probed.

Ernest still denied it because he didn't want the affairs of Celeste and his brother to be known by his parents. This was between Celeste and Gary. He was not willing to make things difficult for them.

"I'm not sure. I heard that she has a boyfriend, and they have a very good relationship between them," Ernest tried to laugh it off, "So, don't worry. Celeste is in good hands."

"Really?" Liam was still feeling down. He smiled bitterly and muttered, "That's good to know."

"Come on, let's go upstairs," Ernest said.

"Okay."

In the private room, Maria sat down and ordered some dishes first. She ordered all the food that she hadn't had in quite some time and paid the bill for the food in advance.

Although Liam had suggested the place, Maria knew that he didn't have a job now. That meant that he didn't have an income, so she didn't want to burden Liam with the bill.

By the time Ernest and Liam entered, the waiters had already served the food.

"That's fast," Ernest exclaimed out of surprise.

"I'm sorry, guys. I was hungry. I couldn't wait for you two," Maria looked at them and gestured, "I ordered all kinds of food and told them to serve it first. If you need anything else, you can order more."

"How much did you order?" asked Ernest.

"Twelve dishes," Maria said, "It's enough, but I don't know if it's to your liking."

"I'm not picky about food," Ernest grinned.

Liam also chimed in, "There's no need to order more."

As soon as the dishes were served, Maria said to them, "If that's the case, I'll eat first. I'm a little hungry."

After that, she began to dig in.

Liam pursed his lips. There was no expression on his face, and there was no longer any trace of his usual smile and sunshine in his eyes. It seemed that there was only sorrow in them.

He was not in a hurry to eat. He just lowered his head and looked at the plate in front of him. He seemed very quiet.

Maria ate a mouthful of food and looked at Liam. Deep down, she laughed self- deprecatingly at herself. Then, she continued to eat with her head down.

Anyhow, he would not care about her feelings.

However, she knew that Liam was definitely aware that she liked him.

Halfway through the meal, Ernest's phone rang. He picked up the phone and went out with a serious face.

Only Maria and Liam were left in the room.

"Ms. Lowe," Liam looked up at Maria.

"What's the matter?" Maria glanced at him, and there was no expression on her face.

"You know who Celeste's boyfriend is, don't you?" Liam didn't get an answer from Ernest, so he came to ask Maria.

Maria smiled when he asked her this question, but it was a forced smile.

"I do," She nodded and continued to eat.

"Who is it?" Almost subconsciously, Liam asked in a slightly anxious tone.

"A boy who is worthy of her. A boy that can give her happiness and a bright future together with her," Maria was solemn, "He's quite decent if compared to you."

Liam's face turned pale again, and he narrowed his eyes.

Maria saw his long eyelashes droop as if he wanted to say something, but he stopped on second thought.

"Aren't you hungry, Mr. Robinson? Are these dishes that not to your liking?" Maria changed the topic.

"I'm not hungry," Liam's voice was livid.
