Maria looked at Liam with surprise, her eyes full of doubt as she gasped, "Why haven't you left yet?"
"Is there no one else in your house?" Liam asked directly.
Maria was stunned, "Did you hear?"
"Yes." Liam didn't try to cover it up. "What will you do if there's no one home?"
He felt that since he had sent her back, he had to make sure that she was safe.
"Me?" Maria pursed her lips, "I'm fine. I can go home. My parents will be back in a few days."
Liam didn't know what to do, so he suddenly blurted out, "Why don't you go to my place?"
When he said it, he was also very surprised.
It was unbelievable that he would ask a girl to go home with him like this. She was just a mindless fan who had a thing for him.
Maria was also shocked. She looked at Liam in disbelief.
She didn't expect that Liam would say that. For a moment, she was a little confused. Her mind was in a mess as she looked at the man in front of her.
After saying that, Liam felt a little embarrassed.
He explained again, "It's not safe for you to be alone."
Maria heard what he said and came to her senses. She shook her head and rejected him."That's ok, I won't go with you."
"Why not?"
Maria looked at him and explained, "I am afraid that I can't control myself. I will take advantage of you."
Liam opened his mouth but couldn't speak.
Maria said, "I have a maid at home. Don't worry about me."
It was only then that it dawned on Liam. His face turned red.
At that moment, a woman ran quickly out of the villa. She saw Maria from a distance and shouted, "Miss, are you home?"
As soon as Maria turned around, she saw her maid, Agnes Young. She immediately waved and said, "Agnes, it's me."
Seeing as her maid was coming, Liam felt extremely embarrassed. He turned his head and got into the car, feeling as though he wanted to run away.
Agnes quickly ran over and sized Maria up. She exclaimed, "Miss, it's really you. I didn't believe it was you when Mr. Lowe called me. Why are you so thin?"
"Agnes, I'm not thin," Maria gave Agnes a hug and smiled, "Help me carry this luggage. I'll say goodbye to my friend and come in right away."
Agnes glanced at the car and was a little surprised. She exclaimed, "Since it's your friend, why don't you invite them in for some tea?"
"That's alright," Maria shook her head at Agnes, "He may not be willing to do so."
"Fine," Agnes dragged her suitcase and marched forward, waiting for Maria in front.
Maria walked to the door of the driver's seat. She looked at the slightly blushing Liam sitting inside and said, "Mr. Robinson."
It was only then that Liam looked at Maria and said, "You can go back. Now that you have someone with you, I'm relieved."
Maria smiled and tilted her head to look at him.
"What I meant is that I have safely sent you home, so I have honoured my word to Ernest," He was absolutely serious.
Maria still smiled brightly at him, "No matter what, thank you."
Complicated emotions flashed through Liam's eyes.
He was about to start the car.
Then, Maria spoke again, "Liam."
Startled, Liam turned to look at her.
She said, "I just wanted to say that the relationship between you and Celeste is impossible. If you can get over it, it'll be great. If you can't, you'll just be giving yourself a hard time."
Liam's eyes became sharp. He muttered, "If you don't want to tell me who her boyfriend is, don't talk to me about anything else."
"It's my cousin, Gary," Maria finally revealed. She looked at Liam and asked, "Do you think you're a match for him? You should know well what kind of person he is."
Sure enough, after hearing that, Liam's face instantly became cold and stern.
Maria cast a deep look at him and turned away.
She did not look back and left quickly.
When Liam came back to his senses, he found that he was the only one there. He drove away. On the way back, he couldn't help but call Gary.
