True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 144

"Your hands... I have not applied the medicine on them yet," After saying that, Heinz Jones placed her on the sofa and picked up the medicine kit. He looked at the skin on her hand that had been scratched raw by the rope. After a bath, the wound started oozing out blood.

Grace Smith had been wrapped up in a large bathrobe previously, so she could not see clearly her wounds. Now that she was wearing a short-sleeved shirt that had her arms exposed, she could see that her wrist was covered with bloodied wounds.

Grace paused for a moment and felt warm in her heart.

Heinz sat with her, with his head against hers, as he helped her apply the medicine.

Heinz's big hand was strong but gentle at the same time. He held her hand, and with the other hand, he dabbed the wound with cotton balls that had been soaked in medicine to disinfect it.

The yellow solution seeped into her skin and she felt a little pain. She took a deep breath.

"Does it hurt?" Heinz looked up and asked gently.

Grace looked into his eyes and it was hard for her to extricate herself from it at the moment.

A bold idea suddenly came to her mind.

She should fight for her own happiness.

If she were to retreat, it would mean that she was weak. But she was never a weak person.

She had to ask clearly before she could make a decision.

Yes, she must ask him some questions.

Grace shook her head and smiled. "It hurts a little, but I can still bear it."

Heinz frowned, glanced at her, and continued to apply the medicine.

The air was filled with a faint smell of medicine, and the atmosphere was very quiet.

"Mr. Jones," Grace pursed her lips and said, "Is the girl we met that day your girlfriend?"

Heinz's hand froze, he frowned and said unpleasantly, "No, she's not."

"Er, is she your date then? Someone set you up on a blind date?" Grace asked tentatively again.

Heinz did not answer her question.

Heinz applied the medicine to her wound little by little and then wiped it with alcohol.

"Ouch, it hurts!" Grace shouted in a low voice.

Heinz didn't say a word. He used the alcohol to wipe her wounds and applied some antiseptic cream to it. Then, he bandaged her with gauze.

She took a deep breath because of the pain, but she didn't forget what she wanted to ask.

"Mr. Jones, you haven't answered me yet. Is that girl your blind date?" Grace repeated her question.

"So what if she was?" Heinz close the lid and looked at her.

Grace was stunned and her breathing stopped for a few seconds. She almost forgot to breathe because of his words.

"Are you planning to be with her?" Grace asked again.

Heinz sat up straight and locked her eyes. "What's your actual question?"

"I've already asked my question," Grace's eyes widened.

There was a glint of interest in Heinz's eyes. He was so smart that he knew what she was thinking.

"I don't intend to be with her," Heinz said directly.

Grace was stunned, and she couldn't help smiling. She looked at him excitedly.

"Let's continue our meal," she said.

Heinz looked at her and didn't say anything for a long time.

This woman was a little annoying.

He wanted to know why did she ask those questions, but then, she didn't continue the conversation.

He clenched his teeth and narrowed his eyes. His gaze became sharper.

Heinz didn't get up to go to the dining area, but continued to sit there and said in a low voice, "Grace, do you know? I really want to strangle you right now."

Grace felt a shiver in her heart.

Heinz stood up, looked down at her, and turned to leave.

She also stood up.

Since that girl was not his girlfriend, then things will be easier from now on.

She wouldn't need to bear any psychological stress anymore. She could be with him without any guilt.

After thinking for a while, she followed him and sat down at the table. This time, she ate the food happily.

She picked up a piece of meat with a fork and stuffed it into her mouth. She sighed with satisfaction, "Indeed food is the most important thing in the world. Thank you, Mr. Jones, for saving me today."

When Heinz saw that she suddenly seemed to have changed into another person, he raised his eyebrows.

"Well, I didn't see you in taking any action to thank me," Heinz rolled his eyes at her.

Grace froze, rolled her eyes and stood up. She picked up the red wine and walked over to him. Then, she poured both of them a glass of wine.

Heinz looked at her with keen eyes.

Grace picked up the glass and said, "Mr. Jones, here's another toast to you."
