True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 1455

Liam could tell he was very close with her.

From the looks of it, the two of them got along very well. That was why they could behave so casually with each other.

Although upset, he didn't actually get out but only watched them from afar.

Because deep down, he knew there were some things he shouldn't do.

But the sight of Maria being so familiar with another man made him uncomfortable.

It was indescribable, only that it felt as if someone was strangling his heart.

Outside...

Maria shoved Adrian away and frowned as she protested, "This is not England, Mister. Don't go around hugging people like that. It's very annoying. Besides, I don't like it."

For some reason, Maria could feel a burning glare penetrating the back of her head. Therefore, she didn't want Adrian to treat her overly friendly.

Adrian could sense something was amiss, "What? Why can't we hug? Aren't we buddies?"

Maria gave him the side- eye and said, "Alright, enough with the bullsh*t. Where's your luggage?"

All Adrian had was a backpack; it was frighteningly simple.

"I don't have any," Adrian said bluntly, "Why do I need all that? I just wanted to see you asap, so I packed light."

"F*ck, you came empty- handed?! Didn't you say you were bringing me delicacies from your hometown?" she couldn't believe him, "The only reason came was that you brought me snacks."

"They'll arrive tomorrow," Adrian said, "I got people back home to pack them up and ship it over."

"Forget it; you'd better not bother other people. I don't want to trouble others," Maria refused immediately, "How long do you plan to be here for?"

"Why does it sound like I'm not welcomed?" Adrian tilted his head, looking at Maria, feeling that she wasn't the same as before.

Yet, he couldn't put his finger on it.

"You can tell?" Maria said directly, "You're right. I really don't want you here. I'm very busy. You chose the wrong time to come."

Hearing that, Adrian rolled his eyes and looked at her and whined, "Maria, how can you hurt me like that?"

Maria added, "I'm merely stating the truth." "Then tell me what you've been up to lately," Adrian frowned as he approached Maria suddenly.

Shocked, she took a step back subconsciously and frowned in disgust, "Hey, what are you doing?"

He was so close that he almost kissed her.

"What's there to be busy about for a girl like you?" Adrian looked at her doubtfully, "Tell me about it."

"It's for me to know and for you to find out. The point is I'm busy, and I don't have much time to entertain you. If you really want to tour the Northern City, I'll ask my cousin and friend to guide you around."

Maria thought if Adrian would be staying here for a while, Ernest and Leah could entertain him while she spent time with Liam.

"Huh, so you don't want to show me around?" Adrian glanced at her, abashed, and whined, "I don't know your cousin."

"You will after I've introduced you both," Maria refuted, "You're such a born socializer anyway, you'll fit in soon enough."

"You're the born socializer, okay?" Adrian retorted, "Maria, tell me, what have you been up to? We're classmates, what could be more important than me?"

"It's way more important than you," Maria didn't hesitate to break Adrian's heart. She said bluntly, "I'm just giving you a heads up that I won't be able to show you around all the time. But no worries, I'll make sure you have a good time."

Adrian's shoulders slumped, more upset, "What's more enticing than me?"

"Alright, enough talking. My friend came with me to pick you up. Let's get into the car," she reached out and patted Adrian, indicating for him to follow.

Adrian frowned, looking at her back before quickly chasing after her, "Hey, is your friend a boy or a girl? Is she pretty?"

"Judging by your tone, you're hoping it's a girl," Maria smiled and said, "Sorry to disappoint you, but he's someone more good-looking than a girl."

"What? " Adrian was stunned.

At this time, Liam drove the car over and winded down the window. He looked at Maria and said solemnly, "Get in."

Maria heard him and quickly replied, "Coming."
