True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 1458

Maria had to admit her father was right even if she didn't want to.

She had been too forthright.

It was true.

Of course, she knew.

But she couldn't help it.

Because she loved him, she couldn't help wanting to be close to him all the time. Even with just one call, she would appear right in front of him, even if it was in the middle of the night.

After thinking rationally, she had indeed been too forthright.

Zachary could tell Maria was taking in his advice.

With that, a touch of benevolence surfaced in his eyes, knowing his daughter was brilliant.

He was truly pleased.

Zachary said, heartfelt, "Why don't you sit down. This will take a while."

"Mm." Maria sat down, and the father and daughter faced each other.

"Maria, I'm a man, so I know exactly what men are like." Zachary continued, "It's about time you and Liam move on from your newlywed stage. Go and have fun with Leah and Ernest tomorrow. Ignore Liam."

She nodded, "He didn't say he was coming along, and I also planned to have fun with the others."

"Remember, you must give him a chance to reflect. Give him some time to think about all of this."

"I understand the relationship both of you have. Seeing how you hesitated earlier, I know you're not the one wearing the pants in this relationship."

"I'm not saying you have to be assertive, but you need to know what you're doing. Only then can you get what you want."

"Relationships are the same as investments. Although they aren't identical, you have to be rational when the time comes."

Your mother and I aren't geniuses, but we aren't dumb either, so as our daughter, I hope you'll be able to handle this relationship with sensibility."

"Just like when your mom and I separated for six years. Neither of us was willing, but it still happened."

"The pain of parting from each other helped us collect our emotions, making us wiser, and knowing we couldn't live without each other."

"Sometimes, only after separating that can we truly understand what we want the most."

"It was also then that I realized your mom has and will always be the one in my heart."

"And the same goes for her, so we got back together. We've never truly fought even until now. Even if we bickered, I couldn't bear to upset her."

"I know very well there's still a lot more for me to work on, but if you can meet a man who treats you like I treat your mom, then I can rest in peace."

That was the first time Maria heard her father talk so much at one go, and it was about love.

Touched, she looked at her father with tears welling up in her eyes, sparkling. She nodded.

"Dad, I won't be a disgrace. I'll think about what you said, and I'll do my best to figure out what I'm doing." She looked at her father with determination, "I firmly believe I can make Liam fall for me."

Zachary chuckled, "Good. You're smart. I'm going to give you a hundred million dollars to set up your management company. I'll collect interest from you as any bank does."

Taken aback, Maria smiled, "Dad, why are you giving it to me so soon? There's still three years before I graduate."

"The earlier you have the funds, the faster you can lay out your plans," he reasoned, "I'll give you more after you graduate."

"Dad, don't go looking for Liam, and don't let him know you know about our relationship either," she pleaded, "I don't want him to find out so soon."

"I understand," Zachary said solemnly, "But according to my knowledge, his management company has publicized to sideline him forever."

"There's still three more years until his contract expires. By then, they won't be able to do anything," Maria said.

"A man's spirit can be destroyed in three years," Zachary said, "What do you think of his willpower?"

"He should be able to hold on." She was willing to believe in Liam.

"He's strong-willed?" Zachary snorted, somewhat satirical, "You call a man who calls you in the middle of the night strong- willed? For a man couldn't even control his lust, how strong could his willpower be?"

Blushed, she retorted, "But Dad, don't you think it's because I'm charming?"

"I haven't even done anything, and you're already speaking up for him." Zachary glanced at Maria with rage in his eyes.

"No, I just have a gut feeling," Maria said embarrassingly, "He's changed. It seems that he really wants to be with me."
