"Oh please!" Adrian sneered. "Are you shy? Come on, tell us about the type of guys you fancy."

"What do you mean by shy?" Leah rolled her eyes at him, and a sly light gleamed in her eyes. She glanced at Ernest and said to Adrian, "I actually have a crush on you. So, are we going to date each other?"

"Pfft!" Adrian almost laughed out loud. He looked at Leah and naturally saw that she was staring at Ernest. "Was that directed towards me or Ernest?"

Although Ernest bore a tranquil expression, his eyes were still as black as ink, and the glimmer in his gaze made it difficult to make out what thoughts he had in his head.

Leah turned her gaze indifferently to Adrian and said with a small smile, "You're the one who asked me the question, why are you dragging Ernest into this? He's not the kind of person who likes to joke around."

Adrian smiled even brighter, as if he had long seen through Leah's thoughts. He said, "You want to use me a shield, that's fine, but Leah, you are a girl. These jokes will only put you at a

disadvantage."

Leah shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly. She said in a relaxed manner, "Thank you for looking out for me. I might somehow be able to like you for your appearance, but personality wise, you're too much of a ruckus. I prefer the calm and collected type."

"Ernest is calm and collected," Adrian said with a smile.

Leah glanced in the direction of Ernest.

He kept smiling softly as he stared at Leah. It was impossible to figure out his thoughts behind the deep look in his eyes.

Leah laughed and said, "I won't deny that he is, but sometimes being too calm is no fun."

"Really?" Adrian smiled again and said, "You're quite picky."

"That I am, which is why I'd rather have something of quality or have nothing at all," Leah said and sighed again. "Who cares about being lovey-dovey right now if they could have a lasting love?"

"You are indeed insightful." Adrian looked at Leah and then at Ernest. He then withdrew his gaze and looked at the mountains in the distance. "When you're hopelessly in love, all you can think of is them." "I feel like eating pork chops," Leah said out of

nowhere.

Adrian was thrown off balance at the jarring transition of their conversation's topic. "Miss Winston, aren't you changing the topic from love to pork chops a little too quickly?"

"Do you think that's quick?" Leah shrugged her shoulders and asked in confusion, "I don't think so. Aren't you hungry? Don't you want to eat some meat?"

Ernest smiled without saying anything.

Adrian said, "What do you think, Ernest?"

"Let's eat." He always went with the flow.

Adrian nodded and said to Leah, "Since Ernest says so, then let's go."

When the three of them got to the parking lot at the foot of the mountain, they found that the car Maria and Liam came in was indeed already gone.

They drove to a rather unique restaurant not far from the foot of the mountain and sat in a booth by a pavilion, ready to dine in.

Leah whipped out her cell phone and scrolled through the comments on her book online. Looking at the reviews, there was an exceptional variety of questions directed at her.

Surprisingly, there was a comment asking when the male and female lead would get together.

She immediately typed out a reply. "They just got to know each other. If they got together now, their relationship would be too shallow."

Ernest was also looking at his cell phone, scrolling through Leah's book's section absentmindedly. When he reached the comment section, suddenly he saw a recent reply from the author.

Bewildered, he instinctively took a glance at Leah.

Leah was still looking down at her cell phone, not realizing Ernest was staring at her.
