True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 1484

"Doesn't look like it's going smoothly," Maria smiled and teased. "Tell me what happened, maybe I can help."

"I understand your enthusiasm, but I'm afraid this is something I have to deal with myself." Leah couldn't help but laugh in annoyance. "Your dearest cousin, Mr. Ernest, is the ancestor to all passive men. The way he chats can bore you to death, did you know that?"

"That's not true, is it?" Maria thought for a moment and said, "I think it's his brother, Gary, that would fit that description more. He has the talent to talk about a single subject for the whole day. You'll see what I mean when you meet him."

"Isn't Ernest the same as him?"

"They're not the same," Maria assured with certainty, "Their looks and personalities are totally different, but no one would believe they're twins. But essentially, they are very different."

"Is he that difficult?" Leah asked curiously.

"Difficult?" Maria laughed. "Yes, that's the appropriate word to describe Gary."

"Really?" Leah was very surprised. "I can't imagine anyone more difficult than Ernest."

"I wouldn't say it's difficult, he's just a little reserved." Maria was trying to justify Ernest's behavior. "He's very keen. If there's something you're thinking of, he can definitely notice it. He just never voices them out."

"That's called being difficult." Leah felt a little nervous. "You notice something, but you don't vocalize it. You'll get that itchy feeling hooked to your heart, it's not a nice feeling."

"Gary was closed off to Celeste for four years, did you know that?" Maria told Leah about the four-year drama between Gary and Celeste. After hearing it, Leah was even more speechless.

After a while, she let out a long sigh and said, "Why is love a thing in this world? Aren't we just continuing the cycle of life and death where difficulty persists?"

"But that's just it, it's also difficult for me. It's nice when Liam and I are together. Even though we have to be separated because of school, if we have to separate then well separate. Hanging onto someone, holding onto a thread, isn't it like flying a kite? It may look free, but if the owner doesn't let go, it will end up with two results. Whether the owner comes back with the kite and cuts off its string, either way, the result benefits the owner of the kite. You see, it's so annoying."

Upon hearing this, Leah went stiff. "Does Gary always take the initiative?"

"That seems to be the case," Maria said. "But like kites, guys like him are hard to control, they might detach their strings by themselves and fly away."

Leah gave another long sigh to the phone and said, "That's why I've been having insomnia. I've been struggling all night wondering if I should continue liking him."

"No way, you've only just started liking him and now you're thinking of taking your feelings back. Don't tell me your feelings for him are shallow?" Maria exclaimed in surprise, but realized her words may have hurt Leah. "What I mean is, you have to persevere. Look at me, I've been in love with Liam for so many years. I fell in love with him when he first debuted, I was so young back then, and I think my outcome wasn't that bad."

"First of all, Little Missy, is there anyone as persevering as you?" Although Leah said as such, she felt a kick in her heart that was difficult to get rid of.

"Don't tell me you're really giving up on this challenge?"

"I don't know. I just think if it's gonna be this difficult it'd be better if I kept my emotions and

pull myself together." Leah said, "Just like a tortoise, you can always go back into your shell."

"You're being so pessimistic, it's unlike you."

"Maybe I'm just feeling dejected. Or maybe it's the aftermath of insomnia. Anyway, I'm just speaking nonsense."

"I'm leaving tonight. Do you want to come see me off?" Maria wanted to create an opportunity for her. "If you do, my parents can send you back and you'll be able to see Ernest as well. What do you think?"

Leah thought about it for a moment and said, "No, I don't want to create an opportunity. Sometimes, it's better to stop when you have to, it's much better than rushing."

"You're so rational," Maria said. "If it were me, I would probably just run away."

"That would be you playing hard to get." Leah laughed. "Forget it, I don't want to talk about it anymore, I need to write an update. Have a safe flight!"

Just like that, she hung up the phone.

Minutes passed, but Maria was baffled and she had an inconceivable look on her face. Liam glanced at her and said, "You told Leah too much. If Ernest knows, he's probably going to get angry."

"Why would I tell him?" Maria smiled indifferently, and then reached out to hug Liam. "I'll be gone soon. What are you going to do?"

Liam looked at her face and softened. When he thought about not being able to see her for a long time, his heart was filled with anxiety.

He lowered his head and pecked on her lips. His feelings were complicated.

He really wanted to stay like this, but he knew it was time for her to leave. It wouldn't do her any good to keep her like this for so long.

"I'll send you back. You're probably going back to the UK after you've had dinner with your parents."

"We're going now?" Maria was reluctant to leave.

"It's already past five o'clock," Liam looked at his watch and said. "You'll reach home just in time for dinner, and then you should be heading straight to the airport."
