True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 1502

Gary stood still at the door.

He stood in front of the ward rooted to the ground, his mind filled with regret.

He felt extremely guilty looking at the woman lying motionless on the bed through the glass.

Reality really gave him a heavy blow.

He met Janice when he was walking towards the apartment this afternoon. Back then, Janice had joked around with him.

Gary always thought that it was terrible for a man to constantly be disgusted with a woman, not to mention that Janice had brought him back that day. Therefore, he thought that they could still be friends.

Furthermore, Janice was a friend of Lowell's, so he would be seeing her often in the future. Hence, it did not matter if he was a little polite. However, he did not expect his politeness to become the reason Celeste got hurt.

He was extremely frustrated.

What was even more unexpected was Celeste's pregnancy. It caught him off guard that the child

was lost before he even knew about it.

Gary regretted that he was being difficult and hadn't called her for the past three weeks.

He should have insisted on going to London that night. At that time, Celeste did not want him to come, so he obeyed her wishes and did not go. He should have discovered it earlier. If he had found out about it earlier, maybe the child could have been saved.

Gary suddenly thought of what Celeste said. She seemed to have said something about her hormones.

At that time, he didn't think much about it.

They had been together for more than a month and spent almost every night together for nearly two months. How could they not have children?

Sometimes, there were no precautions as he was too indulgent with himself and did not really want to use a condom.

Now, it seemed that he was really too selfish. It was because of this that his beloved suffered such pain.

Celeste had witnessed such a scene as she arrived in Boston and it just so happened to cause the miscarriage.

Gary felt that he deserved it. This was punishment from the heavens. His eyes were filled with pain.

He didn't dare to enter the ward and could only look at Celeste from afar. He stared at his beloved through the glass without even blinking.

He was afraid that Celeste would get angry if he walked in.

Gary shivered. He felt scared for the first time.

Celeste's ashen face was imprinted in his mind. It made him remorseful.

The word "scumbag" flashed through his mind for the first time, and he felt exactly like one.

Meanwhile, Celeste was lying on the hospital bed, her gaze distant and unfocused. She emptied everything in her mind and looked at the ceiling in a daze.

No one knew what she was thinking. Her eyes were fixed there for a long time. If it were not for her trembling long eyelashes which indicated that she was awake, people would think she was a statue lying on the bed.

Gary felt even worse watching this.

Lowell saw such a scene when he came back. The person inside was lying in silence.

Likewise, the person outside was just standing there quietly.

The two of them were separated by the door of the ward. One of them did not go in, and the other probably didn't even realize the other's presence.

Gary had obviously been in the same position for a long time.

Lowell walked over and glanced at him. He asked, "Have you not entered at all?"

Gary didn't say a word. He just stood there like a pillar.

Lowell had changed into some clean clothes. He hesitated for a while and knocked on the door.

There was no reply from the room. Lowell hesitated for a moment and walked in.

He went to the bed and looked at Celeste lying on the bed. He then said in a gentle voice, "Celeste, are you okay?"

Perhaps because the voice was clear and warm, Celeste was no longer as alert as before. She then turned her gaze to the person who came in. The moment she saw Lowell, she forced a smile on her face.

This pale smile was even more heart-wrenching to watch.

Lowell felt really upset when he saw her like this.
