True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 1514

Gary fixed his gaze on Celeste with a sincere smile on his face, but deep at the bottom of his heart, he was panicking.

He gave a shot at Pedro's words. After all, his smile was quite lethal.

As expected, when he noticed Celeste staring at him in a daze, hope instantly welled up in his heart. He felt somewhat relieved.

It seemed that this smile was so charming to the point of dazing Celeste.

He studied her features. Her hair was no longer long. It did not grow past her ears. It was short, yet her delicate facial features were exquisite.

Her gorgeous facial features fell into his sight. It was so beautiful.

He smiled and lowered his head to look at her. Neither of them spoke for a moment.

The atmosphere was dead silent.

The rain outside the window pitter-pattered at a steady pace, like the whispering of lovers.

An ambiguous aura filled the entire room.

His eyes fell on her face.

All of a sudden, a loud splash of rain slammed on the window.

The noise alarmed Celeste, and she immediately returned to her senses. She realized that she had actually been in a trance because of Gary's smile.

Pedro's words flashed through her mind. It seemed that he was right. The impact Gary's smile had on her was one that could never be underestimated.

It was as if she had been shot by the cupid's arrow, falling into a stupor. At the thought of that, she blushed and lowered her head bashfully, not daring to take another look at Gary.

As Gary stared at her, he was obviously stunned.

She seemed cute with her face blushing.

Her ears were red, and her neck was red to the point of dripping blood. She was adorable.

His gaze deepened. He remained silent for a while as he stared at her with mixed emotions in his gaze. Pain and restraint were apparent in his eyes. In the end, he suppressed his emotion and spoke softly, "The tea is about to cool. Drink it while it's still warm."

Celeste paused for a moment before she nodded in a hurry, "Alright, you may leave."

He was dumbstruck, feeling awfully awkward. Celeste was driving him away. Although he wanted to stay back and have a conversation, her words indicated that she was sending him away.

Even if he longed for it, he nodded, "Well, I'm heading out for a cigarette. Call me if anything happens."

As he spoke, he came to a realization. He then looked at Celeste and added, "I still have the same phone number. It never changed."

Celeste lifted her head and met his deep gaze.

His words seemed to have an underlying meaning.

But after he gazed at her, he turned around to leave, thoughtfully closing the door behind himself.

Gary was afraid that he could not restrain himself from pulling Celeste into his embrace, so he left as if he was fleeing. After he closed the door, he took a deep breath and craved a cigarette.

Celeste realized that she was still wearing Gary's clothes when she was left alone in her room.

Panicking, she took off his clothes and dried them with a hairdryer.

By the time it was dry, it was no longer stained with raindrops.

She folded his clothes, which retained his scent.

Celeste could never forget that scent of his.

But she refrained from taking another step forward. She was afraid.

So she no longer pondered on their complicated relationship.

She placed his clothes aside and sipped the brown sugar tear. It was still warm and the temperature was just right.

After a whole cup of tea entered her stomach, she felt much warmer.

There was a sweet and sugary taste in her mouth. As she savoured the drink, she realized that it was both honeyed and bitter at the same time.

Celeste looked at the empty cup then at the stack of folded clothes. After a while, she decided to change her outfit.

She opened the door and left the room, wanting to head to the third floor.

As she climbed the stairs, she could smell the scent of cigarettes in the air, which caused her to frown. It seemed that he was indeed smoking.

In an instant, her heart ached. No matter what, she was always concerned about Gary.

When she was on the third floor, she saw that his

door was open.

Through the open door, she saw Gary lying lazily on the bed. His long legs were crossed, while his slender arms were hanging off the bed. There was a cigarette between his fingers.

The end of the deadly stick flickered with a pale scarlet flame, wisps of stale smoke lingering over the flame.

Gary stared at the droplets of rain on his window. His gaze was fixed on the window as if he was indulged in his own world.

He smoked like a soulless machine. Celeste saw him putting the cigarette to his mouth as he took a deep breath.

He seemed accustomed to the action. As he had previously mentioned, he had been smoking for a period of time.

As Celeste looked at Gary through the crack of the door, she felt both sorrowful and sorry for him.

Exhaling clouds of white smoke, wisps of smoke obscured his dashing face.

In a trance, she could no longer see his face clearly. It seemed to her that she might have never truly understood Gary.

At that moment, he excluded a dejected and distressed aura.
