Cindy chuckled, "That's what you deserve. You should not have listened to a woman. If you gave me the 80 million, I might have let you go for the sake of our past relationship, but you were too stingy. You only gave me 20 million to leave the country. You on the other hand live a comfortable life. What about my life in the future?"
Sinclair narrowed his eyes and a dangerous glint flashed in his gaze. Monica had angered Cindy by only giving her 20 million.
If he'd given Cindy the amount she asked for, he might still be the CEO of the Theclair Group. It would be easy for him to make back the 80 million.
Unfortunately, one wrong move costed him everything.
When Monica heard their conversation, she was also angered. "Cindy, you're doing this to me and Sinclair over 80 million?"
"You're the ones who wanted to abandon me. You're the ones who're heartless, and I'm just returning the favor." Cindy shrugged her shoulders, not afraid of them at all. "I can only say that you deserve to face the consequences of your actions. How could I ever let you two live happily if I can't?"
"You're one cold-hearted b*tch," Monica scolded her.
"You're the one who's cold- hearted." Michael sneered at Monica. "You've had an affair for two decades, and yet here you are being all righteous. You must be the most shameless woman on Earth."
Sinclair replied, "That's enough, Michael. It's been so many years. It's what it's now, so we have to face the reality. We are all in the same boat now, so it's pointless to fight, isn't it?"
"You're right." Michael chuckled. "It's indeed pointless. Since that's the case, why are you guys here?"
"You took my money, Michael. Even if I did screw up first, you don't have to do this to me, do you?" Monica questioned him.
Michael smiled with a smug on his face. "To be honest, I've only ever accomplished two things over the course of our marriage. One is that you never discovered the affair I had with Cindy, and the second one is me transferring all your money overseas without you knowing. Ha, how the mighty have fallen."
Monica's expression darkened, and she looked very displeased. However, she managed to adjust her emotions quickly. "Well, kudos to you, Michael. I admit that you did executed those two things very well. Now, I'm backed into a corner with no money and no job. This is all your doing."
"Monica, that's hardly fair for you to say that, don't you think?" Cindy scoffed. "You started an affair with Sinclair first, and you tricked me before abandoning me. Michael and I are just trying to save ourselves, and it's just that we won."
"You won?" Monica sneered. "Just forget it. If you did, you wouldn't end up in this sorry state."
"You're right." Cindy admitted plainly while she nodded. "I made a fool of myself, and I ended up in an ugly situation. However, you're the one that caused all of this. Anyway, we still have money, and you don't. Am I right?"
Sinclair interrupted them. "Enough, stop arguing. Sort yourselves out and let's talk this over at my place."
"Your place?" Cindy was shocked and she sat up immediately. "Did you buy a house?"
"Why not?" Sinclair retorted.
"Where is it?"
"Here, of course," Sinclair said.
"You said it's not safe here, so what's this about?"
Cindy asked in return.
"Do you know why we are here?" Sinclair asked.
On the other side, Gary said in a low voice, "Oh no, they found something."
The five of them were all watching the video feed attentively.
Cindy asked in astonishment, "How did you know to come here? You couldn't have guessed it on your own. Did someone tell you?"
"Well, someone's been spying on you two," Sinclair replied.
After saying that, Cindy suddenly got up from the bed and began searching the entire room.
"Are the cameras going to be discovered?" Maria held Liam's hand nervously.
They watched as Cindy rifled through the entire room to search for hidden cameras.
Sinclair said, "Don't bother looking for them. The footage wasn't taken from inside the house. Instead, it was taken from outside the window."
Then, Cindy and Michael both looked out the window.
