He could tell that Celeste was worried about him getting angry, so Gary immediately relaxed his expressions. He nodded and told Celeste in a gentle way, "You are right. They are coming here so that they can let go of their worries."
"That's right." Celeste nodded too and smiled at Gary.
Ernest, Liam, and Maria were stunned when they saw how they were getting along. It seemed that Celeste was the only one who could stop Gary.
Gary actually controlled his usual arrogant self in front of Celeste. He tried his best to show her his patience and tenderness.
Maria looked at Liam calmly. Coincidentally, he turned to look at her too. Their eyes met.
Liam raised his eyebrows and said softly, "Come on, let's have a rest."
Maria nodded, and she felt a real sense of relief.
Back then, even though she knew that Liam's feelings for her were getting stronger than ever before, she was still not that confident. As she realized then that Liam no longer had feelings for
Celeste like he did before, she slowly let her guard down.
Maria looked at Liam and nodded. She smiled brightly. "Okay, let's go and take a rest."
Everyone said their goodnights to each other and went upstairs.
As they were leaving, Maria deliberately turned around to look at Ernest.
Ernest was a smart person, so he naturally understood the meaning in his cousin's eyes. His gaze was a little sharp and he said, "Liam, I am afraid I can't rest yet. There is still something I need to talk to you about."
Liam was stunned. All of a sudden, he thought of something and immediately told Ernest, "Okay, let's go to your room to talk. I will take Maria back to our room first."
"Okay, I will wait for you in my room." Ernest smiled at Maria. The look in his eyes was mysterious, and Maria started having some doubts. She felt an indescribable feeling.
She looked at Liam suspiciously. Was there something going on between Liam and Ernest that she didn't know?
She asked directly, "It's so late, what kind of topic do you grown men have to talk about?"
"Naturally, there are some important things,"
Ernest smiled and said, "Maria, go rest first. I need to borrow Liam for a while. I will return him to you soon."
"Ernest." When Liam saw how mysterious Ernest was intentionally acting, he quickly reminded him, "That's enough, stop teasing Maria."
He took her hand and went upstairs.
After entering the room, Maria still could not help but to hug Liam. She asked him, "What are you going to talk to Ernest about? Are you hiding something from me?"
"There are some things I need to talk to Ernest about. Give me ten minutes, I will be right back, and I'll let you know then," Liam said. With that, he gave Maria a kiss on her forehead.
Maria had no choice but to let him go.
Even though she did not know what Liam meant by that, she still trusted him and nodded obediently.
Liam then walked out of the door, went upstairs and entered Ernest's room.
"Have you and Leah finished the contract?" Liam asked Ernest.
Ernest nodded at once. "Yes, Liam. I have read the contract which Leah wrote too. We have modified it a bit after some research. She used a few samples as reference, and added some cases of her own to further complete the draft. Come and have a look, and see what you think of this contract compared to your previous one."
"Wait, were you guys really that serious?" Even Liam felt somewhat embarrassed. He immediately took over the contract which Ernest had printed.
He sat and and read through it seriously.
"Have a look first. Leah said that she can amend anything that you think needs improvements on."
"Sure, I will have a look first."
After 15 minutes.
Liam finished reading the contract, and he had read it very seriously, word by word.
When he was finished, he sighed. "This contract is really done completely according to my wishes. Ernest, your girlfriend is truly a smart girl. She has strong comprehension skills."
Ernest smiled and said, "So, are you satisfied with this contract?"
"I am very satisfied."
"Then, do we still need to make any alterations?" Ernest asked again.
"No, there's no need to change anything. It's good enough." Liam was delighted. "I will send this contract to Uncle Jones so that he can keep a copy of it." "Actually, the contract is just a formality. You need to be self-disciplined and control your behaviors. There really isn't a need for this contract at all." Ernest continued, "However, I can understand your thoughts. You want to let uncle and Maria know your real feelings."
"I understand what they think and feel. However, I still need to do this properly." Liam held the contract tightly. "When Uncle Jones and Aunt Smith come, I will ask them to help me bring this contract back to the law department of the Lowe Group. This is the proof of my feelings for Maria."
"Well done, Liam." Ernest rather admired him too. "You are really a suitable candidate for Maria."
"Of course, Maria and I are made for each other. She is a lovely girl." Liam truly appreciated her.
Ernest nodded. "Celeste is only suitable for my brother."
When he said that, Ernest was looking at Liam. Liam was also stunned for a little while. After that, he smiled and nodded.
