Gary had sharp eyes. He instantly noticed that his mother had tensed up when she spotted Ernest and him approaching her. With that, he immediately felt apologetic.

It seemed that his mother was embarrassed about getting pregnant and was worried that they would take the news badly.

Gary thought that his attitude towards the pregnancy must have given his mother the impression that he was displeased. That was why she got nervous.

"Mom, congratulations!" Gary said as soon as they got close enough. He had a smile on his face and seemed really sincere.

Grace looked at her son with suspicion. She tried to gauge Gary's sincerity from his smile. After all, she was worried that her children would be embarrassed about the fact that she was pregnant.

However, when she realized that Gary was truly being sincere, she gradually relaxed.

After that, Grace turned to look at Ernest.

Ernest had always been easy-going. He returned his mother's gaze and smiled, "Congratulations to you and dad. I wonder if you'll be having girls or boys this time. I hope it'll be one of each."

Grace observed Ernest's expression carefully and found that he was smiling at her as well. She turned to look at Heinz in disbelief.

Heinz cleared his throat, "Why are you glaring at me? Our kids are congratulating us. You should thank them! I hope that well have a baby boy and a baby girl. If that happens, Sylvia will no longer be the only girl in the family."

"I agree. I think you've doted on Sylvia a little too much because of that. If mom does give birth to another girl, Sylvia will have a sister to keep her company. Furthermore, it can also prevent Sylvia from getting spoiled rotten. I think it would be great," Gary agreed.

Ernest nodded and added, "I think so too. I've always thought that..."

Grace snapped back to her senses soon. Before Ernest could finish his sentence, she cleared her throat and interjected, "I didn't think the two of you would take my pregnancy so well. After all, the news of me getting pregnant at this age won't reflect well on you guys. I really didn't plan on getting pregnant, just to make it clear."

It was clear that Grace still felt apologetic over her pregnancy.

"Don't worry about it. Mom, you're still young. You just gave birth to us too soon. If it hadn't been for Heinz's uncouthly behavior, you wouldn't have gotten pregnant so early either."

Heinz's face darkened when he heard how Gary was describing him. His lips twitched in displeasure.

Gary was belittling Heinz just to please Grace.

Though, to be fair, if it hadn't been for his uncouth behavior in the past, he and Grace wouldn't have ended up together.

Heinz looked at his son with a frown before turning to look at Ernest.

Ernest nodded and agreed with Gary, "That's true. I do think that you were too young when you gave birth to us. Most people nowadays give birth to their first child in their thirties. Mom, you're only forty now, so it's really not that big of a deal."

"That's right," Gary nodded.

The two brothers were in sync with each other. In just a short while, it was Heinz's turn to look embarrassed. Grace could not help herself and burst out laughing.

In the meantime, the butler had filled the table with a bunch of dishes and called out, "Dinner is ready, everyone." "Alright, let's go eat," Heinz announced, "There is no need to discuss this matter any further. Your mother and I have received your sincere blessings. Come on, let's head to the dining room."

The atmosphere throughout dinner was enjoyable, and Grace's appetite had returned. She no longer felt too sick to stomach her food. Maybe the term of her pregnancy wasn't that far to show such strong symptoms yet.

Or perhaps her babies were just being really obedient. Maybe her unborn children knew that she was in her forties already, so they decided to let her off easy.

Regardless of what the reason actually was, Grace felt great.

Just as Gary and Celeste moved to head upstairs after their meal, Gary's phone rang.

He answered the phone, "Hello?"

"Mr. Jones, Cindy is bleeding excessively. She's in the emergency room getting resuscitated right now. She may be on the brink of death," The voice on the other end of the phone explained hurriedly.

Gary was stunned. Even though Cindy had brought it upon herself, Gary could not help himself from feeling surprised when he heard that Cindy was going to die.

He shot a subconscious glance at Celeste.

Celeste returned his gaze, looking confused.

"Alright, understood," He hung up the phone and turned to Celeste.

Celeste sent him a questioning gaze. Since Gary did not put his phone on speaker, she did not hear what the other person had said. As such, she did not know what was going on.

Judging from Gary's solemn tone and expression, it seemed that something bad had happened.

"What's wrong?" Celeste asked cautiously.

Before Gary could answer, Heinz's phone started to ring.

Heinz got his phone out and answered it.

Alex had called him, "President Jones, Cindy has been bleeding excessively for a long while. She's in the emergency room getting resuscitated right now. The doctor says that she's in a critical condition."

Heinz frowned at that.
