True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 1720

Gary gazed at Celeste, feeling sorry for her. It hurt him to the core, and he pursed his lips, trying to control his emotions.

In his eyes, Celeste did not have to do that.

She was so weak that even trussing a chicken would prove a tough task for her. She seldom touched knives, including the cooking utensils. But now that she intended to put an end to everything, she was ready to disfigure Cindy with her own hands.

He could not bear it.

He could not bear to let her do such a thing.

"Celeste, since I'm here, you don't have to do it." Gary was willing to do anything for her, even if it was to shed someone's blood.

Besides, Cindy was too heinous.

"No, I have to do this," Celeste replied, shaking her head. "Listen to me this time. I'll take the lead."

Gary was stunned again.

He could see the grit and courage in her face.

Even Alex was impressed by what he saw.

He took out a Swiss Army knife.

He opened it up and held it out to Celeste.

The sharp blade shone in the light.

Noticing what Alex was doing, Gary growled disapprovingly, "Uncle Logan."

Alex looked at him while shaking his head.

In Alex's point of view, it was Celeste's choice.

She needed to do so in order to sever ties with Cindy completely.

It was a symbolic act for her, like a ceremony.

Sometimes, one had to go through a ceremony to get over the past and move on.

Gary was momentarily dumbfounded when he met Alex's disapproving gaze.

Celeste took the knife and held it firmly in her hand, shooting a grateful look at Alex.

Then, she turned to smile at Gary.

It was a cold yet brave smile.

The sight of it made Gary feel even more reluctant to let her dirty her hands.

He was fretting over her so much that he felt as if his heart was in his mouth.

Celeste just shook her head slightly at him to reassure him.

Cindy was nonplussed when she saw that Celeste really had a knife in her hand. What was more, it was pointed at her.

Celeste took a step forward, and Cindy shook her head and screamed right away, "No, no! Celeste, you can't do this to me. I'm your aunt, your mother's best friend. I raised you. If you do this to me, you'll end up in hell."

Celeste looked directly into Cindy's eyes, not moved by her words at all.

She walked up to Cindy.

Two burly bodyguards held Cindy down, one on each side.

Alex gave the bodyguards a look, implying that they should prevent Cindy from moving at all costs. They could not afford any accidents.

Although Cindy was tied up, she could still struggle. Now that she was held down by the bodyguards in addition to being tied up, she would not be able to escape.

"Even if I have to go to hell, I'll personally destroy you," Celeste said, enunciating every word. "This is what you owe me."

"H-how can you be so cruel?" Cindy stammered. Sensing Celeste's resolve to settle the score with her, Cindy knew that she was in a hopeless situation.

She immediately turned to Gary with a pleading look in her eyes while yelling, "Gary, do you see that? Celeste is Sinclair's daughter. She's as coldblooded as her father. If you continue to date her, she'll treat you in the same heartless way in the future, just like how she's treating me now."

Gary knitted his brows and swept his gaze over Cindy.

His gaze was as sharp as a knife, as though he wanted to cut off Cindy's tongue.

Alex watched quietly, paying close attention to Celeste's every move.

"She's Sinclair's daughter, so half of her genes are inherited from him. Sinclair is ruthless and fickle. Her mother, Yannie, wasn't a saint either. She wasn't as innocent as she seemed to be, and she deserved to die. With their blood in Celeste's veins, how far can the apple fall from the tree?" Cindy said desperately.
