True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 1789

"It doesn't really matter anymore," Leah pursed her lips and let out a relieved smile. "It's all over."

Ernest frowned and stared at Leah. "Do you still want to break up with me?"

Leah lowered her gaze "Yes, I still insist on what we agreed on in London."

Ernest fell silent, and he swallowed as he looked at Leah. In the end, he said, "Leah, I'm really sorry if you're still bothered by what I did, but I don't want to break up with you."

"Ernest, what have you been doing for the past two months?" Leah asked softly.

Ernest was stunned, and he narrowed his eyes on Leah.

So, that was what she was upset about. Ernest pursed his lips and said, "I screwed up, and I get it if you're mad at me. In the end, I let you leave London alone, and that was a sh*tty move."

There was a deep remorse in his tone. He felt really guilty.

Leah shook her head. "It wasn't a sh*tty move. Celeste is a taboo topic for you, and you think I don't trust you. Well, you're not wrong. Your reaction back then didn't incite a lot of trusting feelings inside of me, and I still don't trust you now when you say you want to get back together."

Ernest's expression was complicated, and he didn't know what to say. However, he would lose Leah completely if he didn't say anything.

Ernest panicked at the thought of this.

He stared at Leah and said softly, "Leah, why won't you trust me now?"

"Because two months is too long," Leah smiled. "It's going to be February soon. I feel like you'll be able to go through life smoothly with or without me. Of course, I can do the same."

Although Leah was quite upset without Ernest in her life, it wasn't unbearable. She didn't want to be so pathetic.

She loved fiercely, but she didn't want to lose herself in the process.

Ernest's heart ached because of Leah's words and he was very upset. Hence, he stayed silent as he gave Leah a meaningful look.

Then, his phone rang.

The ringtone interrupted their silence.

Ernest took a moment before he picked up the phone.

"Have you arrived?"

Leah couldn't hear what the caller said, but Ernest replied, "Come on upstairs. I'll open the door for you."

He got up and took a look at the security camera feed next to the door. Then, he pressed a button and the delivery man came upstairs.

Leah frowned. Ernest had really ordered takeout for her. "Ernest, just go. Take your luggage and your food with you."

Ernest stiffened, and his back was to Leah. He did not turn back to look at her as if he hadn't heard her at all.

After a while, someone knocked on the door.

Ernest opened the door. It seemed like he had bought a lot of food.

He brought it inside and put it on the porch.

Leah became anxious at the sight of Ernest refusing to leave. Then, she stood up and walked towards the door, saying, "Get out, Ernest. Stop interfering in my life."

However, Ernest suddenly turned around and hugged Leah.

The familiar scent filled Leah's nostrils, and she missed it terribly.

She felt very upset that Ernest had come all this way to ask her to get back together.

She felt that the problem had yet to be truly resolved.

What she wanted was not what he wanted.

They didn't communicate very well, and it seemed hard for them to do so either.

He hadn't asked to get back together for two months. Leah was sobered as she thought of this, and she pushed Ernest away.

However, Ernest looked at Leah in his arms and raised his eyebrows. He didn't expect Leah to push him away.

"Leah, I'm not leaving." With that, Ernest immediately dashed Leah's hopes.

Leah frowned and her expression was one of displeasure. Hence, she made it very clear to Ernest with her eyes.
