True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 179

Grace Smith's face turned stiff instantly. Just as she was about to deny it, she heard Jensen Charm explaining, "Don't talk nonsense. Miss Smith is shy. She's my friend."

"Oh, really?" Others who didn't know the actual situation were still winking and frowning at him. It was obvious that they thought that Jensen had an unusual relationship with Grace.

Jensen said seriously, "Don't talk nonsense and don't try to guess. I've said that we're just friends."

Heinz Jones's cold eyes swept over. He was stunned initially when he saw Grace, and his face instantly turned cold upon hearing Jensen's subordinates' jokes.

Grace met Heinz's cold eyes and at that moment, and this made her rethink her decision to come back. Maybe it wasn't a right decision after all.

But also because of his cold look, she became much calmer although she was still feeling awkward.

Looking at everyone, she smiled faintly and said, "Sorry, you really misunderstood. I have just recorded my testimony at the police station and just happened to know Officer Charm, so I am here to have a meal. That's all."

"Really?" One of the subordinates came over immediately after hearing Grace's words and asked her, "Beauty, what's your name?"

"My name is Grace Smith."

"Do you have a boyfriend?"

"No." Grace thought that since Heinz had refused to admit it, it was not appropriate for her to say it herself. When she said this, she was looking in Heinz's direction.

Sure enough, as soon as she said that, Heinz let out a slight and sarcastic snort, "Ha!"

"No?" The colleague was very surprised and his eyes lit up looking at Grace.

Grace's eyes quivered and she said, "But I am, sort-of, seeing someone."

As soon as she said that, everyone was in a daze.

Those who knew about the truth were looking at Heinz, while those who didn't were looking at Grace and Jensen.

"Are you talking about our boss?"

"No." Grace shook her head and said, "Officer Charm is very kind and easy-going. The person I'm talking about is more indifferent and cold."

This d*mn woman.

Heinz narrowed his eyes and shot an arrow-sharp glare at Grace.

Grace glanced at him and turned to look at Jensen. She smiled and said, "Officer Charm, shall we sit down?"

"Yes, of course." Jensen said, "Grace, you can take a seat over there."

He was referring to the vacant seat next to where

Heinz was sitting.

Grace took a look and found that Heinz was sitting there with an overwhelming aura and the others didn't dare to sit close to him. Therefore, the seats on both sides of Heinz were left empty.

She glanced at it and said without hesitation, "Well, there are two seats left. Let's take one on each side."

"Okay." Jensen made a gesture of invitation.

Grace walked over and sat directly on the right side of Heinz, while Jensen sat on the left.

At this moment, Heinz's entire body was piercingly cold as if he was covered by ice and snow.

"Heinz, have you ordered the dishes?" Jensen turned to look at Heinz.

Heinz replied coldly, "No, I was waiting for you."

"Okay." Jensen took the menu and pushed it past Heinz and it landed in front of Grace. "Grace, ladies first, you can order first."

Grace looked at the menu which came from Heinz's direction. She took a glance at it and she was instantly in shock. The food here was too expensive for her.

She looked at Jensen and pushed it back to him. "Officer Charm, you can do the ordering."

"What's wrong?" Jensen raised his eyebrows and asked, "The food here is not to your liking?"

Grace smiled and said, "I like to eat meat. Maybe you could order something on behalf of me? We could maybe get a platter or something."

Jensen was startled at first but he laughed. "Well, my brothers also like meat too. Let's order a platter to share and maybe some other dishes too."

"Okay." Grace grinned.

The two were chatting with each other with Heinz stuck in between them. They were completely ignoring him.

At the corner of her eyes, Grace could feel that Heinz's face was getting more and more serious. Her bright smile was still unwavering.

"Grace, do you like beef?"
