Leah was caught off guard by how jealous and petty Hogan was. She never expected him to be like this.
Honestly, it was disgusting.
Leah merely smiled faintly at how Hogan ridiculed her.
"I'm so sorry. It's not up to you to decide who I am. Maybe it's possible that I've done something with Ernest. If I did it, wouldn't you be disappointed?"
Leah retorted immediately, crushing Hogan's dignity.
Hogan snorted at Leah's words and said, "Dream on, Cinderella. You'll always be the girl sweeping the cinders, and you'll never be able to get the prince. Stop being so delusional."
The contempt and sarcasm in Hogan's words were obvious, but Leah's smile was bright and beautiful. Her face was radiant, and it was very different from yesterday night.
Today, Leah looked very cute, and light seemed to shine from her every pore.
Her smile was brilliant, and it swayed Hogan's
heart.
Leah said, "Thanks for the reminder, but I'm very ambitious. I want to ascend into the higher ranks of society. At least it's better than having no place."
"Hmph!" Hogan sneered, face twisted in disgust. He looked and Leah and said, "You shameless wh*re. You'll use any means necessary to be Ernest's wife."
Leah chuckled coldly. "So what? This is my business. If Ernest Jones himself loves me, no one else matters, much less a nobody like you."
Hogan was pissed, and his eyes looked as if they were going to cut Leah in half.
It was Leah's intention to anger Hogan so she could use the stun gun. If she didn't infuriate him, Hogan might still be cautious around her.
Leah had to use this weapon when Hogan was unprepared in order to stall for time. Otherwise, who knows what would happen before the police arrive?
Furthermore, they were inside the house. It would take time for the cops to enter as well.
It was not as straightforward as it seemed.
Leah threw Rowane a conspiratorial glance to remind her to play along as it would be difficult to subdue Hogan alone.
However, Rowane kept her head down and did not speak.
It looked like she had been badly injured.
Hence, Leah had to go at it alone.
Just then, Leah's phone rang.
She tried to get her phone with her free hand, but Hogan snatched it from her.
Leah was shocked by his actions. She'd glanced at the phone and discovered that Ernest was calling.
Her heart skipped a beat.
Hogan narrowed his eyes at the phone and sneered. "So, you two have really made up. Ernest is calling."
Hogan answered the call and Ernest's lazy voice came through the speaker. "I fell asleep just now, and I didn't manage to see your texts. Hey, you've finally unblocked me."
"Ernest Jones," Hogan was angered as soon as he heard Ernest's voice, and his tone was decidedly very rude. "Leah is with me now."
Ernest was taken aback at the sound of Hogan's voice, and he had a very bad feeling about what was happening.
He asked, "Where's Leah? What did you do to her?"
