"How is that possible?" Ernest chuckled and said, "I won't find trouble for you. That won't do. Besides, your sister is a ticking time bomb. I am afraid that if you two live too near to each other, trouble will still arrive when the people from the Wells family come to disturb you."
Leah blinked and thought that Ernest was really amazing. He had considered everything clearly, and she didn't have to worry too much about anything at all.
Leah glanced at Ernest, a sense of appreciation rose from her eyes.
"You are really thoughtful," she said sincerely.
Ernest smiled gently and said, "You will soon find that I'm more than that. This is just the tip of the iceberg."
Leah widened her mouth, she could not help but to laugh. She felt that his narcissism could really be off the roof at times.
Yet, that behavior of his really stunned her, so much so that she couldn't help but to chuckle. "Okay, I think that I will surely discover more of your merits."
She thought that they had talked for long enough, but Ernest added, "Of course, I also have a lot of shortcomings, which you will slowly find out about those too."
Leah was stunned once more. She was a little speechless, butthen she laughed again.
"That's right, everyone has their merits and weaknesses, I have a lot of flaws too." She protected herself first, in hopes that he would not be too startled when he found out about her weaknesses.
However, Ernest smiled and said, "It doesn't matter. I will forgive your flaws open-heartedly. On the contrary, I hope that you will treat me like this too. I hope that you will accept my shortcomings and praise my merits. I hope that we will improve together, to be the best versions of ourselves."
"Since you have said so, how could I disagree?" Leah felt moved after seeing him like that.
Ernest smiled again and said, "Actually, you don't have to be so polite with me. I don't want a lot from you, but there is one thing, and I have to repeat it."
Seeing how serious Ernest was, Leah could not help but to sit straight. She looked at Ernest and said, "What is it? Tell me." "That is, you can't simply ask for a break up with me. I don't like people who like to threaten me with breakups, and I don't like to talk about divorce after marriage too. These are all taboos," Ernest said seriously, "I think that when two people are together, they will definitely encounter these problems, but all problems can be solved. If we can't solve it, we can discuss it, we can ignore each other for a period of time, or we can even put the problem aside, but we just can't break up."
Perhaps it was because of their previous experience, when Ernest told her about that, he was exceptionally serious.
Leah could feel how serious he was, she nodded seriously and guaranteed, "Okay, I understand. In the future, I won't simply bring up a break up, and I won't simply think about it either, okay?"
"Okay, let's see then," Ernest said.
The car left the apartment's parking lot.
Ernest looked at the time, and it was almost time for lunch. He asked, "What do you want for lunch?"
Leah thought for a moment and said, "I don't know. Anything works. Should we go back and cook?"
If they were to cook, then they needed to buy groceries first.
"Let's eat outside." Ernest made his own considerations. If they were to cook, it would take them a long time to head home, and their time would be wasted. It was better to eat outside together, and then buy some food so that they didn't have to go out again in the afternoon.
Those were his plans, but he did not tell Leah about it.
"What do you want to eat?" Leah was not sure what she wanted to eat. She looked at the streets and the restaurants outside, but she could not make a decision.
At that moment, Leah's phone rang.
She glanced at the phone and told Ernest, "It's my best friend Lydia, I will go and answer the phone first."
"Oh, okay." Ernest nodded. "Answer the phone first. I will look for a restaurant and just park the car then, so that we can eat there. Will that do?"
"Of course." Leah then answered the phone.
Lydia's voice sounded from the other end of the phone. "Leah, I have to go back to my hometown. I was supposed to have a meal with your boyfriend, but I have to leave first. We won't be able to eat together. Sorry about that."
"Are you two going to go back already?" Leah was greatly surprised. "Didn't you say that you will stay a little longer?" "I can't. I found a job, so I need to go back for internship." "Really? Then you guys can leave first. Let's eat together in the future, if we have the chance." Leah thought that it was a great opportunity that was hard to come by for her to get a job and internship. As for gatherings, they could do that any time.
"Yes, so you must remember that you and your boyfriend owe me a meal," Lydia said as she chuckled.
