Gary suspected that Simon was actually ill.
Perhaps he was lacking self-control.
He reminded him of it.
Ernest also felt it.
Those who had been in jail for too long perhaps had forgotten what the outside world was like.
Perhaps he was already out of tune with the world long ago.
Looking at Simon, Ernest also said, "Why are you being like this? You were beaten up all this while for being so agitated like this. Do you want to be beaten up again?"
At that time, Heinz's phone rang.
Simon's attention was diverted when he heard the ringtone. It looked as if he had suddenly realized something.
His expression was no longer that scary.
Heinz glanced at him and picked up the call.
They could only hear Heinz saying over the phone, but not what the other end was saying. "Sure, send her in."
Heinz hung up the phone and smiled at Simon, saying, "I think you should've already told Grace everything you wanted to say. Why don't you settle your issues with Marry first? She's here already. Perhaps we should give you two some time alone to properly catch up and talk about all the good and bad things that had over these years."
Heinz smiled faintly and looked at his sons as he said, "Let's go, and let's give your uncle and aunt some time alone to catch up."
Simon heard that Marry was coming.
Simon's face fell all of a sudden.
He turned a little pale.
Why was Marry there?
Marry hadn't been in contact with him for so long.
They were basically strangers for the past few years, without any interaction at all.
Although they were still legally married, they were no longer acting like any normal husband and wife.
They never met up, and they weren't even keeping in contact through the phone.
He heard that Marry was released from jail and took care of his parents' funeral on his behalf when his parents passed away.
Simon also had mixed feelings when he heard about that from his relatives.
He remembered that he and Marry were sent to jail around the same time back then.
Yet, their sentences were different.
Marry spent many years in jail, but his sentence was still slightly longer than hers. Most of their youthful years had been spent in jail.
Simon couldn't help but to sigh at the thought. They were once the most envied couple, yet that was how they ended up to be.
Perhaps they could've been living a great life if they weren't sentenced to prison. However, that was the reality, and it couldn't be rewritten.
They could never turn back time either.
Simon was caught off guard to learn of Marry's arrival. He never expected to see her there.
His heart was trembling to see her standing in front of him as she entered the room. She still had the same slender figure as before.
She was still so beautiful.
Her skin was fair then.
She looked really youthful, and looked much younger than him.
Had she been living a good life in prison?
Simon stared blankly at the door as she walked in.
She dressed up fashionably.
She was wearing a wool coat on the outside, hiding her maxi dress inside, with a scarf around her neck. She was also in her high heels. She looked amazing.
Marry walked in and stared at Simon indifferently and calmly, without saying anything.
The two of them were in silence as they looked at each other, and even though no words were spoken, there were a lot of messages deep in their gazes.
Simon seemed to be searching for words to say.
It was too sudden that he suddenly met her again, so he couldn't find the words to say.
In the end, he was the first one to speak. "Marry, it has been a while."
As he spoke, Marry smiled. "That's right. It has been a while, Simon."
The atmosphere became awkward again without words after they greeted each other.
Marry was staring coldly at him. Even though her lips were curled, it wasn't a genuine smile.
This man who was standing before her was still her husband.
