Her gaze was filled with mixed emotions. Pity and irony could be seen in her eyes.

After all, he was the man she loved for so long.

Simon inexplicably dazed under her gaze, and there was a glint of struggle in his eyes.

She took another look at Heinz who was standing next to her as she told him, "Heinz, you're a smart guy, but you should know to forgive while you can."

"Of course. I understood that all this while, but you two don't seem to realize that." Heinz smiled as he looked at Marry. "He's asking me to keep you here. What do you think?"

Marry did not say anything. Heinz then smiled at Simon. "All right, Marry has agreed to this. She will be waiting for you."

Marry was dumbfounded. She then frowned and look at Heinz.

"When did I say I agreed?" She asked.

"Marry, you're already in your forties. You should stop acting all pretentious." Heinz reminded, "You should at least fight for what you long after if you couldn't let it go. Haven't you learned this after having suffered for so long?"

Marry was startled. She then chuckled, "It seems like you learned a lot yourself, but you aren't me. You didn't even suffer that much. Can't you understand what it is that I can't let go?"

"Would you rather hold on to your grudges or lose someone forever? What's more important to you" Heinz asked in a straightforward manner.

Marry paused for a while before letting out a burst of wry laughter, and then she nodded. "You're right. Losing someone forever does hurt more. All right, I'll wait for him."

"Ernest, bring your aunt out," Heinz said in a low voice.

Ernest then walked in and led Marry out of the room.

Simon and Heinz were the only ones left in the room. They were finally left alone after having a feud for so many years.

Simon took a deep breath as he looked at Heinz before speaking in a low voice, "Heinz, what is your goal for bringing Marry over today?"

His tone was serious. Heinz raised a brow and smiled faintly. "What do you think?"

Simon was running out of patience. "I'm the one who's asking you. Just answer my question. Stop these nonsense. I have no time to fool around."

Hearing that, Heinz smiled again and said, "You have never really moved on from Marry all this while. You believed that you were in love with Grace, but after seeing Marry just now, it's clear that you still loved her, but you were just too blinded by your obsession to notice your feelings for Marry all these years."

Simon was startled. There was again a hint of struggle in his gaze.

Heinz continued, "Let me ask you this now. Are you finally able to differentiate between your feelings for Grace and Marry?"

Simon's eyes dimmed. There were complicated emotions in his gaze, and he pondered for a moment before nodding. "I know it well now."

"Really?" Heinz was naturally suspicious. However, as he looked at Simon then, he could see that Simon had finally come to a realization.

He had a feeling that Simon finally knew what he wanted then.

He looked at Simon and said calmly, "Simon, it's up to you whether we should keep fighting against each other, or to finally put this behind us. You know the Jones family will be willing to keep fighting against you if you've decided to keep on like this, but then, I'm afraid you've already lost too much in the past.

If you think that you still stand a chance to mend things with Marry, and if you decided to put this behind us, I can let you go immediately."

Simon frowned as if he didn't believe Heinz's words. "Will you be that kind?"

Heinz nodded and said bluntly, "Do I look like I'm joking around? Am I not a person who keeps my words?"

Hearing that, Simon frowned and pondered as if he was weighing what Heinz had said.

He was trying to figure out if Heinz was really able to put things behind them and let him get away with that once and for all.

Heinz was just staring at him with a calm expression, giving him ample time as he waited for him to come up with a decision.
