"I'm afraid you can't get what you want in this place," Kendrix refused without hesitation. "I think we shouldn't be wasting our time."

"My brother-in-law, I don't think you're being honest with me." Gary laughed. "I'm already here, proving that I know I'll get what I want. Do you think you can still refuse to let me in?"

Kendrix smiled as he narrowed his eyes a little. His eyes shone, looking as if he was well aware of everything that was happening.

"You've already seen us, haven't you? What else do you want to confirm?" Kendrix asked.

Gary immediately understood. "It was really you. You are good."

Kendrix smiled and walked back inside the office.

Gary followed suit.

"Yesterday at this hour, your mother and her sister came to me. Today, you and your girlfriend are here again. It seems like I'm fated with the Jones family."

"Isn't that so? " Gary smiled. "You are indeed fated with the Jones family."

Kendrixjust twitched his lips.

"Sooner or later, we will be family," Gary said.

Kendrix frowned slightly and asked, "Mr. Jones, do you know that you're actually hurting your sister by doing this?"

"See, you do care for my sister." Gary was able to catch the important points in Kendrix's words, even though it might not always seem like what others would think.

"Of course I do, she's my student after all. I'm responsible for her. You would understand that, wouldn't you?" Kendrix said.

Gary sneered. "It's not like she's the only student you have, and it's not like she needs another person to feel responsible for her."

"I'm just telling you the reason," Kendrix said.

"Same here," Gary refuted.

Kendrix could only stare at him, his gaze deep.

Gary looked Kendrix in the eye, not avoiding him at all, and then said, "Anyway, you and Sylvia aren't going to be the only teacher-and-student couple out there. There are a lot of such precedents, and many of them turned out to be great. Also, you're just working here for three months, and you're not exactly a teacher. Do you really see yourself as a teacher now that you're here?"

"Are you really her brother? I really can't understand why you're in such a hurry to marry your sister off." Kendrix was being straightforward too.

However, Gary was just laughing. "Look at you being so concerned about her. You really do like her, don't you?"

"That's because she's my student," Kendrix reminded him.

Gary's smile grew even more sinister as if he was telling Kendrix to not fight back, because he could see right through Kendrix.

Kendrix frowned and felt annoyed to be stared at.

Gary put on a smug look. "Don't be so nervous about this. I will keep it a secret. It's nothing embarrassing to fall for my sister."

"You can stop your nonsense," Kendrix said indifferently, "I'm busy. You may leave now."

"Sure. Get back to your work. You don't have to host me." Gary glanced around in his office. It was not too spacious, but everything was kept orderly and clean.

Kendrix's sportswear which he wore earlier was also hung neatly on the hangers.

It could be seen that Kendrix was indeed a disciplined man.

Gary looked around and smiled. "You know, I like you a lot."

He liked the fact that he could entrust his sister with Kendrix as he was able to handle her.

Hearing his words, Kendrix glanced at him for a while and said, "Just how much do you hate your sister that you can't wait to find someone else to take care of her?"

"I don't hate her. I just find her to be a troublemaker. Ordinary men can never handle someone like her," Gary said.

"Should I be grateful that you think so highly of me then?" Kendrix asked.

Gary shrugged and said with a smile, "You should and if you feel like thanking me, you could, but we will soon become family. You don't have to be this formal with me, brother-in-law."

Kendrix was speechless as the corner of his lips twitched. He was rendered speechless.

"You're a smart guy," Gary said with a smile, "I'd say you're almost as smart as me."

Kendrix looked helpless as he looked at him again.

"Don't give me that look, I'm not going to empathize with you," Gary said faintly, "My sister may be weird at some times, but she's still an amazing person. She has the looks, she has the background, and most importantly, she's falling deeply in love with you."
