The man's cry of pain was so agonizing, it sounded as if he were about to die.
Ernest looked down at the man, and couldn't help but admire Gary.
Gary was a ruthless man indeed.
He was going to break the man's neck.
Ernest had to remind him. "Gary, the neck is very delicate. You could paralyze him."
Gary did not become afraid when he heard that. Instead, he became even more excited.
"So what if he becomes paralyzed? It's not like our family can't afford to pay his medical bills. In fact, we can afford to pay even if we paralyze all of them. Furthermore, I did this to defend my brother. I'm sure that Dad will get the best lawyers to make sure I'm innocent."
Ernest's mouth twitched when he heard this.
Of course, he knew that Gary purposely said those words for the man's ears
After some thought, Ernest realized that Gary was right.
Even if he paralyzed the man, Gary might not be in the wrong.
"Well, that's true." Ernest nodded and spoke in an exaggerated tone, "Even if we kill him, it's just selfdefense. Plus, they were the ones who started it."
"Then there's no way we can let him off the hook. Ernest, do you think I should paralyze him or kill him?" Gary asked nonchalantly.
Ernest paused for a moment before he said. "Kill him then. Your strength is unparalleled, so I'm sure that he's going to die either way."
Their conversation nearly drove the man on the ground insane with fear.
He was so scared that he almost screamed. "I'll talk, I'll talk. Please, let me go."
A smile flashed across Gary's handsome face. He looked at his younger brother with a look of satisfaction.
Ernest chuckled as well. Gary was not someone to be trifled with.
Neither of them was in a hurry to interrogate the man.
The man quickly confessed, "The Wells family sent us. Mrs. Wells said that if we kidnap Mr. Jones and Miss Winston, then her son will have a chance to be released."
Ernest frowned when he heard that.
Leah was also shocked.
She didn't expect Mrs. Wells to be so vicious. She would take any risk to save her son.
She looked at the man in astonishment.
Celeste was also puzzled.
Gary looked at Ernest quizzically, "Mrs. Wells? Is that Hogan's mother?"
"Yeah, that's right." Ernest nodded.
"Heh." Gary sneered. "You sure are brave. How dare you attack the Jones family?"
"I screwed up! I'll never do it again. Please forgive me. We're just trying to make a living too," The man cried.
"Ha, this isn't just any job for you." Gary radiated a killer's dangerous aura. "If I let you go so easily, wouldn't it seem like the Jones family are pushovers?"
"Kind sir, please, I know I was wrong. I won't do it again." The man underneath Gary's foot begged for mercy.
Ernest glanced at Gary before he said, "How about this? We let him go and use him to trick Mrs. Wells into our custody?"
Ernest's idea was immediately accepted by the man. "We'll do whatever you say. Please don't hurt us! Give us a chance. We'll cooperate with you in any way that you want."
By then, the police arrived.
Gary shrugged his shoulders and said to Ernest, "You came just in time. Looks like we need the police's help to capture Mrs. Wells."
Ernest smiled and said, "Let me call Uncle Charm and have him get it all sorted out."
"Sure, call him."Gary nodded.
The police were shocked to see the scene in front of them. One of them asked, "What's going on?"
Gary said, "Why don't you ask this man under my feet to tell you what's going on?"
However, Gary did not take his foot off the man. He did not seem fazed by the presence of the police.
The man was frightened by Gary's foot on his neck.
Another one of the attackers quickly said to the police, "We were hired to kidnap the son of the Jones family and his girlfriend. In the end, we were bested by him instead."
