Leah's smile grew wider. She could tell just how much Ernest cherished her.
Leah was pleased to hear his promise.
Regardless of whether she was pregnant or not, Ernest's words made her feel contented.
She should just take things as they come.
She just kept smiling without saying anything.
Ernest was getting a little anxious as he didn't hear her reply. He lowered his gaze.
He couldn't see her face clearly in the darkness. Hence, he lifted her chin so that their gazes met.
Ernest asked in a gentle voice, "Are you still cold?"
Leah was startled. She looked up at him, although she couldn't see his face clearly, she still wanted to just stare at him.
She was still drowning in the passionate intimacy they shared earlier.
"A little," Leah said.
"Should we head back down then?" Ernest asked.
Leah shook her head and looked up in the sky. "It's too beautiful up here. I want to stay here longer."
Most importantly, no one was there to interrupt them.
"You still want to look at the stars, don't you?" Ernest took her hand. It was a little cold. "I can tell that you're cold. Let's head back now. We can come back here again tomorrow night and watch the stars in my car."
"In the car?" Leah shook her head. "Why do I feel like we won't have the time for stargazing again?"
"Why do you say so?" Ernest was confused.
"How will we have time for stargazing up in the mountains if I'm really pregnant?" Leah asked.
Ernest was startled. This was truly a tricky question.
He hesitated and said, "I'll take you to the hospital tomorrow morning."
Leah was also startled. Her period was late for two days. She should really be taking that into consideration.
"Okay, let's go and find out tomorrow morning," Leah said.
"Alright." Ernest tightened his grasp around her hand and pulled her into an embrace. "Let's stay here for another half an hour before heading back."
Leah could not help but sigh at the thought of their journey down the mountain.
Ernest asked, "Why are you sighing?"
Leah glared at him. "I'm too exhausted to walk down the mountain."
Something was burning again in Ernest's eyes upon hearing her complaint.
He suddenly lowered his head and kissed Leah on the lips.
Their lips locked.
It didn't take long for them to feel like they hadn't gotten enough of each other. Especially since her lips were soft and sweet.
Ernest felt much more relaxed and he was in high spirits after releasing his pent-up desire.
Leah was lazily snuggled in his arms. They continued looking up at the stars.
The dark night sky was dotted with brilliant, winking stars.
They looked at each other in the dark, hugging and kissing now and then.
Just like that, time passed by in a blur.
After a long time, Leah suddenly remembered something and asked Ernest, "What's your brother up to? He's being too quiet."
Ernest also felt that it had been a long while since he heard something from Gary and Celeste.
Meanwhile, Gary and Celeste had long made their way down from the observation deck.
They were now at some distance away from the observation deck.
They were standing under a huge tree.
Celeste was pinned against the trunk while Gary did everything he wanted with her.
They were at one of Gary's special places.
He had been to this place when he was a child and stumbled upon this tree on his adventure.
This tree had a strange shape. It had a huge trunk, its branches were strong and thick. Its roots were intertwined together, forming a shield from the outside world, giving them a lot of privacy.
No one outside could spot them among the intertwined tree roots at all.
