True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 1970

As she listened to Janice's arrogant and self-righteous speech, she was chilled to the bone. It was as the blood in her body had stopped flowing altogether.

Was it possible that Gary and Janice still had that kind of relationship?

She felt greatly uncomfortable when she heard that, and she did not want to accept that fact.

She did not want to hear anything that Janice had to say on her own either. After all, Gary had not given her an explanation.

However, right after Gary received Lowell's call, he immediately booked a ticket back to the United States, and he would not even let her go with him.

It was only at that moment that Celeste knew why Gary did not allow her to go, and it was because of Janice.

As she thought about it then, the matter surely had something to do with Janice.

Even though she tried to convince herself to trust in Gary, at that moment, she could not help but to get suspicious.

"Since you are so sure that you are pregnant with Gary's child, then why are you still telling me these?" Celeste put on a tough front and did not let Janice go. "Since you are in such great situation now and even have the trump card, why are you still lacking self-confidence?"

Janice was stunned for a moment, not knowing what to say. When she finally reacted, she snorted and said, "I was just being kind and warning you ahead of time. How can you not know what's good for you?"

"Judging from your words, Miss Simpson, it seems like I should thank you for your reminder," Celeste said in a cold way.

"Celeste, I know that you like Gary a lot, but Gary is not a loyal man. He needs his space for him to roam around, and he will never be restricted to a mere woman like you. The reason I am calling you is to let you know about the child and your future with Gary. Lastly, it is also for your own good."

Celeste's heart turned colder.

Janice went on, "Think about it, Celeste, can you tolerate the likelihood of your husband cheating on you at any time in the future?"

After being questioned like that, Celeste was stunned again. Celeste would never allow that to happen. She loved faithfulness and commitment between couples the most.

She could be completely loyal to the other party. Naturally, she would hope that her significant other would be completely loyal to her too.

She could not stand her boyfriend betraying her.

"You are silent, I know that you can't stand it anymore." Janice smiled and said with certainty, "Yet, I can. I believe I can totally accept Gary being with other women. The only thing he has to do is to be responsible for my child and our life after we get married. I don't care what else he does or who he wants to be with, I will give him freedom, and I will give him the life that he wants, one that's more suitable for him. Celeste, ask yourself, can you be as open-minded as me?"

"That's not being open-minded," Celeste retorted, "Also, that is not true love either. It is just a trade. There is no love involved in that!"

"Regardless, you still have to admit that no matter if it is just a trade, or if it's a relationship, there are differences between maintaining a marriage and just dating. Gary needs a wife like me in the future," Janice said.

"In the future? You are thinking too much!" Celeste said faintly, "Janice, if you let Gary know about this now, do you think that he will let you give birth to that child?"

Janice was stunned by that question. She felt an ominous feeling rising in her heart.

Celeste knew that Janice would think too highly of her scheme. However, she probably hadn't anticipated the possible outcomes.

After all, she was too impatient.

"My guess is that you have deliberately told Uncle Lowell about this matter, so that Uncle Lowell will let Gary know about this. Now, you are using Uncle Lowell's phone. You deliberately sent him away too, didn't you?"

Janice did not say anything.

She really did drive Lowell away using some excuses.

It was a very rare opportunity for her.

Gary and Lowell had been ignoring her for too long. It was rare for Janice to get such opportunity.

"Miss Simpson, you better stop with your scheme. Gary has indeed booked a flight to Boston, but whether you will be able to keep your child or not is something that we still don't know yet. If you really want to marry Gary, you should not have used this trick. Men despised women who do this. It doesn't matter how suitable you think you two are for each other, or how perfect you would be as his wife, he will never take pity on you. That is because you are too scheming, you are too shrewd, and the methods you use are too despicable."

"Celeste, are you jealous of me?" Janice sneered. "Gary has said that he would never touch me, but he still got me pregnant, didn't he?"

"Then why don't you just wait and see how he is going to deal with this matter?" Celeste replied indifferently, "I am busy, so I won't chat with you anymore. Bye."

With that, Celeste hung up the phone.

The moment the call ended, she seemed to have heard Janice still trying to say something more, but she did not linger on any longer.

There was no need for her to say anything else. Besides, they were all meaningless.

Celeste initially thought that she was in a good state of mind and that she was not shocked by that matter. However, right after she put down her phone, she realized that she was already at the edge of collapsing.

She put the phone on the bedside and was stunned for a long time. All of a sudden, she felt something warm landing on the back of her hand. When she reached out, she realized that it was her tears.

Celeste's heart was shocked. She did not expect herself to actually cry.

She felt bitter in her heart, and it was greatly uncomfortable. Her tears could not stop rolling down her face.

She buried her face in the pillow, and she wanted to ask Uncle Lowell about what actually happened, but his phone was with Janice.

There was a high possibility of Uncle Lowell knowing about the matter too. Moreover, he had to be the one who told Gary about it.

It seemed like only Gary and Janice knew what really happened.
