Gary felt even more apologetic when he saw Celeste shedding tears. He immediately comforted her gently, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I should not have used so much strength."
"It's okay." Celeste shook her head.
The more she acted that way, the more Gary felt sorry for her. Whether it was because of that incident or because of his roughness then, he still felt sorry for Celeste.
Instead, it was Celeste who comforted him.
She quickly calmed herself down and stopped herself from crying, but the tears which she continued to shed as her emotions welled up made her feel even more frustrated.
She could only suppress her emotions once again and not let him discover it.
Gary whispered in her ear, "It's all right. Everything will be fine, Celeste."
Celeste only nodded, she did not say anything else.
Gary kissed her forehead preciously. He cherished her, and his actions comforted Celeste a lot.
She knew that he really cherished her, but that only made her feel sadder. At that same moment, she was determined that she could not let Janice get what she wanted.
After she made up her mind, Celeste wrapped her arms around his neck. The two of them leaned against each other. They were ever so close.
Gary did not give Celeste another chance. He was no longer as rough as before, but he got really gentle. However, that time, it was Celeste who was exhausted.
She almost fell asleep once they were done with it, and she had finished up all the energy she had.
Gary's heart ached slightly when he saw how tired Celeste was with her eyes shut.
He leaned against the window, his face, even under his short black hair, was especially handsome and calm. He was also gently stroking Celeste's hair. He would occasionally pause, and it made him look sluggish at times.
Celeste had fallen asleep. She was in such a deep sleep that she did not wake up no matter how Gary moved around.
He could tell that Celeste was very tired. She might have been forcing herself beyond her limits while they were immersed in their passionate interactions earlier.
Gary slowed down a little bit, he got up and out of bed. He first wiped Celeste's body before taking a shower himself. Then, he changed his clothes and walked out.
Instead of accompanying Celeste in her slumber, Gary quickly walked out, got into his car, took out his phone, and made a phone call.
"Help me check out Janice's schedule for the past six months, especially on the night when we met at the bar four months ago." Gary's tone was solemn and deep. "Investigate all of her phone call records and everything else you can find out about her. I will pay you double. No, triple."
The person on the other end of the phone laughed. "Are you trying to bribe me?"
Gary was a little startled, he then smiled and said, "If we aren't going to talk about money, are we going to talk about love?"
The other party chuckled and said, "It is not impossible for two men to fall in love, I don't have any objections to being in a relationship with you."
"Screw you." Gary felt much more relaxed after hearing him joking about it. "Seriously, help me investigate her."
"I have already told you to stay away from Janice long ago." "That's right, I regret it now. I should have listened to you back then," Gary said with a wry smile, he felt greatly regretful too. "Mr. Andrews, it is only now that I understand how brilliant you really were back then."
"You will understand too after you experience more." He smiled and said, "You are smart at other things, but when it comes to this, you just don't quite get it."
"That's right." Gary also admitted his wrongdoing and fault open-heartedly.
"Have you been defeated?"
Gary did not expect him to be so sharp with his words. "That's right, otherwise, I would not be asking you to investigate it for me."
"You are so modest now. I feel like I don't even know you now. I will help you investigate. Anyway, I am not short of money. How about this, I will give you a discount, the base price is still the same. There is no need to triple it, you can still tip me though." He was quite sincere as he spoke. "After all, it's very surprising to see you admit your own shortcomings."
"Three times," Gary said, "I don't lack money either."
"Great, that's up to you." The other party smiled and said, "Let me give you a heads up first. Lowell has returned."
"Did Lowell come back?" Gary paused and he was a little confused.
"That's right, he arrived right after you, even though there was a 20 hour gap." On the other end of the phone, he accurately revealed his arrival time. "Before he left, he met with Janice."
Gary's eyes turned cold at once. He was somewhat shocked and immediately asked, "Did Janice call and ask Lowell over?"
"That's right!" The other party laughed. "Lowell has never been able to reject Janice, am I right?"
That was right.
Gary had known about that a long time ago.
He did not speak.
