After leaving the room, Gary went down the corridor until he reached the end. He stood there as he scanned his surroundings. He had booked the whole ship, so he had access to every room.
Thus, he opened the door at the end of the corridor and entered the room.
Switching on his phone, he called Yandrea.
Before he spoke, he heard Yandrea's laughter.
Irritated, he shot, "Could you not laugh?"
"Alright, alright." With that, Yandrea turned serious as he said, "So I assume you went through my email."
"Yes." Gary said, "In short, Janice used Lowell's phone to call Celeste on the day I went to Boston?"
"That's right," Yandrea said. "It was before the second call, and it was much longer too."
"What did they say in that call?" Gary asked, "I want to know what she said to Celeste."
"I'm afraid only they can answer you. I don't have any recordings of the call, so I don't know what they had spoken about over the phone." Yandrea explained, "You can't expect me to do the impossible, can you?"
"Not even this?" A hint of sarcasm was in Gary's tone. "Then why the smug attitude earlier?"
"How could you be so unreasonable?" Yandrea defended himself. "I was so kind to help you. Yet you're acting so mean now."
"If you were as kind as you say you are, you would have come to me with a recording of the conversation. My mind is in a mess, not knowing what they said," said Gary.
"Did Celeste not say anything?" asked Yandrea.
"If she did, I wouldn't be this upset. In fact, she has been calm all this while." Gary expressed his worries, "My gut tells me Celeste must already know about Janice and me, including the fact that she's pregnant. But the problem is she never showed any strong emotions or confronted me. That's why I am worried."
"Are you afraid that she will leave you?" Yandrea queried.
"What nonsense is this?" Gary lowered his voice, "I'm doomed."
"Well, you do the thinking for yourself. You were the one who promised Janice." Yandrea reminded him, "To be her boyfriend in two months."
Gary sneered, "In her dreams."
"Am I hearing this right? Are you going to break your promise?" Yandrea laughed.
"Why can't I?" Gary copied Yandrea's tone and asked, "Are you trying to defend her?"
"Not really," Yandrea said. "I don't like women like Janice. I'll be happy to see her in trouble."
"From your tone, it sounds like the exact opposite." Gary said in disgust, "You better be clear about one thing. You are Lowell and my friends, not Janice's."
"Of course! I know what I'm doing." Yandrea chuckled, "But you're the one who agreed to be her boyfriend. Janice has already told all her immediate friends that you're her boyfriend now. She even posted pictures of you and her on her social media. You guys look way too intimate by the way, not to mention that great big smile on your face. I wonder, maybe you'd fallen for her before."
Gary frowned the second he heard Yandrea saying this.
