True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 2134

Kendrix did not speak.

Sylvia was staring at Kendrix with her big and sparkly eyes, as if she was waiting for his reply as well.

Kendrix glanced at Claudia and said in a deep voice, "If you are not welcomed, then there is no need for you to be a guest for the next time."

"D*mn it!" Claudia could not help swearing. "Have you lost your mind?"

Kendrix showed her a scorning look, as if he was telling her out loud, "I am out of my mind, what are you going to do about it?"

Claudia rolled her eyes as she felt speechless and said, "Kendrix, don't tell anyone that I am your cousin, how embarrassing. How could I have a cousin like you?"

Claudia was furious as she was ready to storm off. "Screw this, I need to go out for a walk before I can continue eating. Otherwise, I think that I will waste all these good foods."

As she said that, she turned around and walked out.

Only Kendrix and Sylvia were left at the dining table.

The whole atmosphere fell into silence.

Of course, it would not stay silent for long.

Sylvia finally spoke. She asked directly, "Why did you mock Uncle Lowell just now?"

Her purpose of asking that was to find out what was on his mind.

The most important reason was that she wanted to know his stance and attitude towards her.

However, Kendrix asked her in reply, "What do you think the reason is?"

No matter what, Sylvia thought that he shouldn't have done that.

How could he mock her uncle like that? It meant that he was not respecting her either.

If a man liked someone, he would definitely treat her family well too. However, Kendrix's attitude was obviously far from that.

His attitude made Sylvia feel hurt. It wasn't just because of the fact that he did not care about her, but it was also because he did not care about her family.

So, she wanted to ask him clearly regarding the meaning of what he did.

Only by understanding his attitude and stance could she understand his feelings. Having a crush on someone did not necessarily mean that she should just love him blindly.

Sylvia looked at Kendrix stubbornly, she wanted to find the answer in his eyes.

Unfortunately, he was too profound of keeping a subtle face. She was not a match for him at all.

She could not see through his emotions at all.

"I don't know." Sylvia's face darkened a little. "That is why I am asking you."

He placed his cutlery down and looked into her eyes faintly. His eyes were as deep as the sea, and no emotions could be seen in them at all.

"There's no reason at all," Kendrix only replied that. Sylvia frowned, "How could there not be any reasons? Do you think that you can be so impolite for no reason at all?"

"Speaking of politeness, do you think you have any?" Kendrix asked her back.

Sylvia was suddenly stunned by that question.

She gawked at the man in front of her. His eyes were still as calm and deep as ever, and he showed no expressions on his chiseled face, as if it was normal for him to have asked that question.

Perhaps even he himself did not realize how hurtful his words were, especially when he asked it in that tone.

Sylvia pursed her lips.

"As a girl, not only did you confess to your teacher so casually, you even asked your brothers to help you out when you did not get any response from me." Kendrix fixed his eyes on her. He could see her face breaking down bit by bit, it was even getting paler by the second. However, he still continued, "What? If I don't like you, are you going to take me by force?"

Sylvia froze once more.

"Do... do you really not like me?" Her voice was gradually trembling.

She suddenly felt that her throat was a little dry, it was even aching. She was down.

"I don't," Kendrix said coldly, "Miss Jones, know when to stop."

Sylvia's eyes narrowed.

Kendrix stood up. "Thank you for your hospitality. I should go now."

"What?" Sylvia was stunned once again.

She really did not know what had happened. Weren't they fine a little while ago? They had always been fine, why did he suddenly turn so cold? Even his attitude was firm.

Kendrix lifted his feet and walked out, he did not want to stay there any longer. Yet, he hadn't even finished eating yet, how could he leave just like that?

Sylvia stood up as well, and she chased after him. "Kendrix, wait."

She only wanted to know the reason, she could not just let him walk away like that so easily without actually telling the truth.

Kendrix stopped in his tracks. He turned around and stared at Sylvia with cold eyes. There was no warmth in his gaze at all.

Upon being stared at by his cold eyes, Sylvia felt as if she was about to freeze.

She suddenly stopped in her tracks, she dared not take another step forward.

They were only five to six steps away, and Sylvia continued to look at Kendrix just like that.

"Miss Jones, is there anything else?" Kendrix asked in a cold voice.

As Sylvia listened to his cold tone, her heart was slowly breaking into pieces.
