True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 2207

On the way back home, Sylvia sat in the car, her heart thumping hard.

In the end, she did not ask Kendrix to send her back. Kendrix had insisted at first, but he respected her choice.

She was almost home. Before she left, she asked Kendrix to go and check on Claudia, thinking that perhaps Claudia would feel comfortable with telling Kendrix what she could not tell her.

Sylvia felt that sometimes it was better to say the things in one's heart. By doing so, one would at least be able to vent one's emotions. It was not good to keep too much to oneself.

Soon, the car arrived at the Jones' house. When she walked in, Grace was sitting in the living room. Grace shot Sylvia a meaningful glance.

"Mom," Sylvia greeted with a bright smile, but her voice sounded a little weak.

If Grace was still sitting in the living room at such an hour, it had to mean that she was waiting for Sylvia to return, right? Sylvia thought to herself.

"Sorry about coming back late."

Worried that Grace would be angry, Sylvia quickly apologized first to get on Grace's good side.

Grace noticed at once how obedient Sylvia was being. Her gaze swept over Sylvia's bright eyes and white teeth. Sylvia's lips looked a little redder than usual, but they were still as beautiful as the cherry blossoms in the spring.

Grace sighed as she thought about how Sylvia was getting more and more beautiful.

Sylvia looked beautiful no matter how she looked at her.

Grace paid special attention to the redness of Sylvia's lips.

When Sylvia saw Grace's eyes staring at her mouth, she felt even more guilty, and her face turned red. She quickly lowered her eyes, not daring to look into Grace's eyes.

"Mom, why aren't you saying anything?"

Sylvia found Grace's silence too disconcerting.

Grace thought for a while before she smiled and said, "You are indeed a little late. When Sebastian came back by himself, I asked him where you were. He said that you went to look for Claudia. Even though you asked the driver to send you there, it's still too late to be out. Next time, if you want to go out at such a late hour, it'll be better to ask Sebastian to go with you."

"Sebastian?" Sylvia repeated in surprise, unconsciously raising her voice.

"Yes. Is there something wrong with that?" Grace asked, frowning. She did not understand why Sylvia had such a strong reaction to what she suggested.

Sylvia returned to her senses and shook her head immediately. Smiling, she said, "Nothing. Okay, Mom. I'll ask Sebastian to accompany me in the future."

Humph!

There was no way Sylvia was going to do that!

That was the thought running through Sylvia's mind.

She knew that Sebastian was not on good terms with Claudia.

However, it seemed like a lot of things had happened that night, and no one really knew what had transpired.

Claudia would not say anything, and Sebastian was still his usual infuriating self. How annoying! Sylvia thought to herself.

She decided that she would have to go with the flow in the future.

And she would just agree to whatever Grace said for the time being.

Grace could tell by the look on Sylvia's face that Sylvia had a lot on her mind, but she had no idea what Sylvia was thinking.

Sylvia was her daughter, so Grace could tell that there was something bothering her.

However, she did not know the reason because Sylvia revealed nothing.

She knew that Sylvia was merely humoring her.

Nonetheless, Grace did not expose her. She only asked, "Why did Sebastian come back by himself today?"

"Didn't you ask him?" Sylvia asked as she looked at Grace. "What did he say?"

"He didn't say anything," Grace replied. "That's why I'm asking you."

So, Sebastian did not tell Grace anything. In that case, Sylvia would not say much either. Sylvia thought to herself.

"Since I went to look for Claudia, Sebastian must've thought that it was inconvenient for him to go with me."

"Since when did you and Claudia become such good friends?" Grace asked with a smile.

"We've always been good friends. She has been a guest in our house, and we have even slept in the same bed. How could we not be best friends yet?"

"From the looks of it, it seems that you really like Claudia. Am I right?"
