True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 2232

Grace could not help smiling when she heard Claudia's praise. It seemed that Claudia was sincere and not merely saying it to please her.

"I'm flattered at getting praised like that," Grace replied.

"You don't have to be. I'm just telling the truth." Claudia smiled at Grace, then gave Sebastian a faint smile. "It's nice to meet Young Master Sebastian too," she said politely.

"Yes. Hello, Madam Loris. Welcome," Sebastian said calmly. There was nothing strange in his tone and expression.

Claudia was not too surprised to hear him call her "Madam".

She had expected that, and she lowered her eyes a little.

Her long eyelashes trembled slightly, hiding the desolation that flashed in her eyes.

The next second, she smiled and raised her head again. She looked at Sebastian and said, "Thank you for welcoming me, Young Master Sebastian."

Seeing that she showed no signs of acting strangely, he greeted her with a smile. His brows arched as he smiled gently, yet there was a hint of sharpness in his smile.

Grace glanced at him, then quietly held Claudia's hand.

At that moment, Sylvia ran into the room.

She shouted, "Claudia, you're here! I went to the washroom for a while, but here you are already."

"The butler brought me in," said Claudia with a smile.

"Sylvia, I asked you to go bring Claudia in, but you went missing." Grace looked at Sylvia with a smile on her face, yet her tone was slightly reproachful.

Claudia immediately said, "Aunt Smith, it's fine. Sylvia's here now."

"Claudia, you don't have to find excuses for this girl. How could I not understand my daughter? This girl has no sense of responsibility at all."

"I'm not that useless, am I?" Sylvia tugged at Grace's arm and said, "Mommy, can we have dinner?"

"Yes, we can. Butler, please serve the food." Grace held Claudia's hand as she went into the dining room.

"I'll go upstairs and ask Dad to come down," said Sebastian.

"There's no need for that. Let's go to the dining room together," Grace said. "Your father will come down later."

Surprised, Sebastian gazed at Grace. He had the feeling that she was trying to stop him from going upstairs.

Was Grace afraid that Sebastian would not come back down if he went upstairs? Was that why she would not allow him to go upstairs at all? Sebastian wondered.

He looked at her suspiciously, but she was already leading Claudia and Sylvia to the dining room. Hence, it was not appropriate for him to just go upstairs like that.

He stood dumbfounded for a while, then followed them.

Claudia turned and looked at Sebastian. Coincidentally, he was also looking at her. They exchanged glances, and Sebastian narrowed his eyes.

Claudia smiled gently, but there was a touch of sarcasm and contempt playing on the corners of her lips.

Sebastian could not help but frown a little.

Claudia glanced at Sebastian and turned back. She did not look at him anymore.

After sitting down at the table, Claudia did not look in Sebastian's direction at all.

She seemed to be doing it on purpose. It was as if she was acting that nothing had happened before, and she had nothing at all to do with Sebastian. Her whole attitude toward him was indifferent.

She was cold toward Sebastian.

However, she treated Grace and Sylvia warmly, smiling at them and maintaining her manners.

When Sebastian walked into the dining room, Grace arranged for him to sit opposite Claudia.
