True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 2269

Both of them were at sixes and sevens.

Sebastian was even stunned, and he gazed at that lady.

Claudia's jaw dropped, and she did not know what to say.

From the looks of it, the lady's words seemed to make sense.

Indeed, they might probably be a pair of quarrelsome lovers.

It was just that Claudia was worn out then. She did not want to continue to be in love with a young guy like Sebastian because it was exhausting.

She was mentally and physically exhausted, feeling that if she continued, she might not be able to do anything else well.

She might as well sever her ties with him in a trice and not think about anything. Just focusing on her career might be a better choice for her.

After all, she was still young and had not reached the age when she had to be in a romantic relationship.

"Madam, you can say whatever you want, but now that you also think that we aren't scammers, when the police arrive later, they will definitely clarify this issue," Claudia said, "I'm not going to keep going on about my relationship with this little guy anymore."

"Are you going to give up?" The lady sighed with a little regret. "If you give up like this, wouldn't your previous efforts be wasted? You should have persisted for a long time, right?"

Claudia took a deep breath. "Just get over it. Don't bring it up again. It'll be bad to trouble him."

"Girl, I think that you really should be braver and more persistent. Sometimes, good thing will only happen in the right timing."

"No." Claudia shook her head determinedly. "I'm tired. I don't want to waste any more time."

Seeing Claudia's firm refusal, Sebastian's brow was knitted deeply, and there was an apparent look of rage on his countenance. He then glared at her.

Meeting his gaze, Claudia cracked a smile and shrugged while saying, "Sebastian, you really don't have to be so scared of me. I used to like you a little, but I don't like you now. We'll be mere acquaintance in the future. Don't think too much about it."

After she told him everything candidly, she would not feel awkward anymore.

That was how Claudia had been thinking right then. In her mind, in such way, he then would not pour scorn on her.

"Humph!" Sebastian gave a cold and satirical snort.

"Why are you snorting? If you have any objection or opinion, you can say it out loud directly. There's no need to be surly. I don't know what you mean by snorting. Why don't you just say it straight from the shoulder?" It wasn't that Claudia could not discern his snarky tone, but she just felt that it happened for no reason.

She wondered why he was behaving so.

"Girl, you don't understand, do you?" The lady said again, "This lad just wants to hear from you that you'll continue liking him. Don't you notice it? He is enraptured by the fact that you like him, and he was still indulging himself in it. When you said suddenly that you are not going to like him anymore, he can't stand it. Don't you understand this kind of emotional blow?"

Claudia did not see it coming. She looked at Sebastian. "Is what she said true?"

"No," Sebastian answered in a deep voice.

"Lad, you look bad when you are arrogant and refuse to admit it. Why can't you admit it? For a boy who can't even admit that there's a girl he likes, what do you think he's able to accomplish?" The woman tried to persuade him patiently. "You'd better be braver and just admit it directly."

"Shut up," Sebastian replied.

The lady shrugged. "Well, someone is going to fly off the handle just because I've told the truth."

Claudia could not help but to giggle.

No matter what, Claudia was delighted at the lady's words toward Sebastian. It made her feel much better.

Meanwhile, the police arrived.

"Who called the police?"
