True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 306

Grace was immediately bewildered.

She sighed inwardly. What on earth was Heinz trying to do?

Based on Grace's understanding of Heinz, she believed that he would never do this. Since they had already parted ways, why would he apologize?

Heinz stared at Grace for a moment, his eyes full of emotion. He locked onto Grace's eyes and said seriously, "I admit that I was caught unaware back then. When I heard about it, I was really mad, so I spoke without restraint and said so many hurtful things.

Now that I've calmed down and thought about it, it wasn't your fault actually. I wasn't gentlemanly enough and didn't want to move on."

Grace wanted to laugh, but she was in a panic.

She lowered her bright eyes and stared at the luxurious carpet in the car. She pursed her lips, and a self- deprecating smile appeared on her lips. However, she hid her cynicism in silence.

There was no need to say anything. She felt that there was no point in his apologizing anymore.

No, maybe it was better than nothing.

At least, when she heard him apologize, she didn't feel so angry anymore. Nonetheless, she still felt a sense of bitterness within her.

After a long period of silence, Heinz received no

reply from Grace.

He was perplexed. He took a breath and said with self- mockery, "Grace, I was too shocked then. I didn't expect you to have a child already. I really couldn't accept it and was caught off guard."

Grace still kept her head lowered. She didn't want to say anything. There was no need for her to say anything.

Heinz continued, "I admit that I was too shallow. I thought that you were lying to me and taking me for a fool."

"I'm used to having everything under control, but when I suddenly realized that I couldn't control you and that there were things that I couldn't fix, I was instantly angry and lost. Perhaps I was mad at myself because I couldn't accept that."

"But now, there's nothing more important than losing you."

Grace slowly raised her eyes and looked at the man beside her. His gaze met hers. He seemed to have a lot to say, looking at her piercingly, as though he was expecting something.

Grace only licked her lips and said nothing.

Heinz frowned and said softly, "Grace?"

Grace's expression was very calm, as if she had suffered too much, and nothing hurt anymore.

After he had humiliated her, mocked her, and spoke ill of her, she had become much calmer.

At first, she felt wronged and dejected, but at this moment, she felt relieved.

But feeling relieved didn't mean that she would forgive him.

Grace looked away, fixing her gaze on the scenery outside the window. She remained silent.

"I know you're still angry." Heinz said, "I don't think I understand you enough. I don't understand myself enough either. I'm not a perfect person. I have many shortcomings. My actions saddened and hurt you, and that's my fault."

Grace felt that such an apology was meaningless after having hurt someone so deeply. He stabbed her to the bone and made her bleed, then sat on his high horse and judged her. After humiliating her, he came to apologize.

If everyone could do that, then prison wouldn't mean anything.

She didn't want to make a fuss about it, but she just felt that it was too cruel.

Grace was silent for a long time, not saying anything at all.

"Grace, can you say something?" Heinz said softly in a cautious tone, fearing that she would turn around and leave.

Grace nodded. "I accept your apology. Are you done?"

Heinz was stunned.
