Miss Holland was at a loss for words from what Gary said.
She was terrified to see that he was Mr. Jones' other son who had just been exposed. She dared not mess with these two children. They were very smart.
She smiled awkwardly and said, "I'm just telling the truth. Mr. Jones isn't even 30 yet. How can he be old?"
"Compared to me, he's very old," Little Gary said, "Isn't that right?"
Miss Holland could only smile helplessly. "Yes."
When Gary saw the expression on Miss Holland's face, he rolled his bright eyes and said, "Compared to you, he's also very old. Miss Holland, you are so young and beautiful."
Miss Holland was initially very stressed, but after hearing Gary's praise, she felt as if a weight had been lifted.
Everyone liked to be praised, especially for their looks.
Miss Holland immediately squatted down and looked at the child with a smile.
Gary laughed mischievously.
She hugged Gary and said, "You're such a sweet kid. You're really good at talking. Why are you being so sweet now? Did you eat some honey?"
"Miss Holland, that's because you've taught me well," Gary seemed to be sucking up to her. "I'm speaking the truth."
"Thank you." Miss Holland smiled as she looked at him, "You're a lovely little thing."
Holding Gary's hand, they continued walking forward.
Little Gary asked, "Teacher, can I not go?"
Miss Holland sighed. "I'm really not in charge of this matter. It's Mr. Maurice who asked you to go."
"Alright." Little Gary nodded. He frowned and said, "I shall go and meet this guest."
In the headmaster's office.
Old Master Carter was waiting, his eyes looking towards the door several times.
Mr. Maurice saw that he was anxious and immediately said, "Mr. Carter, don't worry. He's coming soon."
Old Master Carter didn't say anything in response.
As he spoke, someone arrived at the door.
Miss Holland held Gary's hand and walked in. "Mr. Maurice, I've brought Little Gary here."
"Alright, Miss Holland. Thank you for your hard work." Mr. Maurice stood up to welcome him.
Miss Holland brought Little Gary in.
Old Master Carter's gaze was fixed at the door, completely taken aback at what he saw in that moment.
They looked so alike.
This child looked so similar to Heinz when he was young.
After Little Gary entered the room, he scanned the entire room.
He saw Mr. Maurice standing at the door and greeted him with a smile.
Inside, an old man was sitting on the sofa, and on the other side stood another old man. They both seemed to be quite old.
One stood respectfully, while the other sat proudly.
Gary could tell at a glance who had the final say.
He walked inside.
He arrived in front of Old Master Carter in a few steps and looked at him with curiosity in his clear eyes.
However, he was not afraid at all.
He stared at the old man, which made the old man's heart tremble. Old Master Carter couldn't help but smile.
Gary remained silent.
Since it was Old Master Carter who was looking for him, there was no need for him to speak first.
Gary wanted to hear what he wanted to say.
However, Gary thought that this old man didn't look like his father at all. He wondered if this old man was really his father's grandfather?
It was really strange that his great- grandfather would be looking for him here.
Old Master Carter had seen countless people in his life. This was the third time that he saw a child who was not afraid of him.
The first time was when he'd first met Heinz when he was younger.
