True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 465

Old Master Carter really didn’t expect this girl to have such a high EQ.

No matter how he mocked her, she was not angry at all. Instead, she was still smiling and was no longer overly courteous.

In the beginning, she was still very respectful.

Why did she became disrespectful as they spoke?

Old Master Carter glanced at her and said unhappily, "Do you think we will not meet again?"

"Since you don't like me, why should we meet again?" Grace said with a smile, "Although I am a little shameless, I don't like being ridiculed, either."

"You were quite respectful to me just now, but now you're getting arrogant," Old Master Carter complained unhappily, his tone rather childish, sounding as if he had been aggrieved.

Grace looked at him helplessly and said, "I didn't know why you came here just now, so I thought you might not ask me to leave. Now, you're basically telling me in my face to leave Heinz. If I still treat you respectfully, wouldn't that be flattering you?"

"What did you say?" Old Master Carter was a little angry.

"I'm just telling the truth," Grace said, "Anyway, I am not the granddaughter-in-law you want, so I don't have to flatter you. I am hungry now, Mr. Carter, if you don't want to eat, I'll help myself first."

Grace was really hungry.

Especially when she saw so many dishes served before her, she became hungrier.

She had been busy working the whole morning. Now, she was so hungry that she felt dizzy.

Anyway, since Old Master Carter wouldn't like her no matter what, so she simply didn't care anymore.

Grace picked up her fork and said, "If you don't want to eat, I'll eat first."

"What a glutton!" Old master Carter said angrily, "You're really strange."

Grace nodded, but was not really angry. She said, "Yes, I just love to eat. When you were in the army, didn't you just want to make a living? I've seen your previous interviews and said that you came from a poor family and was not able to provide to your family. Later, you joined the army just for a free meal!"

"You know about my past?" Old Master Carter was shocked.

Grace nodded and said, "I came across it by accident." "Humph!" Old Master Carter snorted.

"Therefore, Mr. Carter, although you might be full now, you still have to let me eat. What's more, I'm still growing. I need to eat well!"

And so, Grace helped herself to the food.

Anyway, his impression of her was subpar anyway. Hence, she didn't care about her superficial reputation.

She picked up her fork and started eating.

When Mr. Carter saw her true personality, he was quite surprised.

He didn't want to show weakness and picked up his spoon. However, he was not hungry.

When Grace saw he was ready to eat, she said, "Have some. It's delicious."

"How could I eat? I'm full from exasperation now!" He put down his spoon again.

Grace took a bite of the food, swallowed it, and said, "Are you really angry?"

"Can't I? Do you have a problem with that?" Old Master Carter said.

"Why bother?" Grace began to eat again. "You have to take care of your own body. Even if you're angry, it doesn't affect me. You'll lose more than you gain in the end."

Old Master Carter now truly had a renewed impression of Grace.

This young lady was indeed smart.

Clearly, Old Master Carter would not actually get angry. He was just putting on an act.

He had experienced all kinds of things in his life, and he had never really gotten angry with his grandson, who bickered with him all day long anyway.

Hence, he would not be angry this time, either.

However, he still behaved that way and said, "If Heinz knows about your attitude, aren't you afraid that he will be infuriated by you and ask you to leave?"

Grace was stunned for a moment. Then, she smiled and said, "You could tell him. I'm intrigued by what his reaction would be if if he knows that I ridiculed you this way."
