True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 683

"Do you really understand?" Queenie asked worriedly. She was anxious as she knew Jodie had suffered a lot when she heard her colleagues talk about Jodie's experience in Alsburg.

However, she could not help but feel sorry for her when she saw her expression after hearing all the harsh words.

Feeling extremely depressed, Jodie nodded and said, "I understand. I won't do stupid things anymore."

"That's right." Queenie looked at Pearlyn and Nathan and sighed. "Look at your parents. They seem to have aged a lot because they thought they had lost you. They look as if they are in their 70s or 80s now. If you come back only for yourself, then you are really too selfish."

"I know." Jodie nodded gently and said, "Aunt Stone, I know I have done wrong. Even if I die, Heinz will not come back to me."

"It's not all your fault either," Queenie said. "You're still so young. You'll definitely be able to find someone whom you love and who would love you in the future."

"Mm." Jodie softly hummed in agreement, but her expression was still as stiff as ever. She was immersed in her own world and did not look at anyone else. It was as if life had no meaning for her anymore.

"Pearlyn, you keep an eye on her. I'll be right back," Queenie said as she walked out.

Walking out, Heinz went to look for Jensen and Alice.

The two of them were waiting in a corner and Jensen was reprimanding Alice, "It was not appropriate for you to say all that just now."

"It was a little inappropriate." Alice also knew. "But if I didn't say all that, there won't be an end point. It’s best to end it this way."

"It's good that Jodie is alive, but what if she dies?" Jensen said, "Alice, I am not criticizing your way of handling matters in general, but just this matter. We shouldn't do this when her life is possibly in danger. We shouldn't add insult to injury as well."

"Okay, I admit that what you said makes sense," Alice said, "But what's the result of this endurance? It would only cause some people, who don't know how to stop, to continue to demand more. They'll never know that enough is enough."

"It's inappropriate for you to say that." Jensen said, "The person who is most qualified to say that is not you. I just want you to understand this."

Pursing her lips, Alice looked at the anxious Jensen and nodded. "Okay, I know I was wrong. I will change next time."

Jensen also relaxed his stiff expression when he saw that her attitude was sincere and said in a softer tone, "I knew that you're a very reasonable girl."

Alice pouted and said disapprovingly, "I am not. I have never been a good girl. I actually have thorns."

It was just that she didn’t use them very often. However, she could not hold herself back anymore when she met Jensen's mother.

If it was not because of everyone's support for her rebuttal, she wouldn't have dared to publicly criticize Jensen's mother so boldly.

"Well, I know you have a temper," said Jensen. He was not feeling angry anymore. "It's better to take note of it. We should only speak when it’s appropriate to and keep our mouths shut if it’s not. You don’t need to say it out loud even if it’ s obvious to you. Do you understand?"

"I don't quite understand," Alice said with a shrug. "Why can’t you understand? I was worried that Heinz wouldn't be able to make up his mind, so I added fuel to the fire."

"I understand." Jensen smiled patiently and said to Alice in a persuasive tone, "Listen to me, Alice. If Heinz didn't have the determination to divorce, he would not do it at all. The reason why he came after he divorced her is due to their past relationship and also, his righteousness. This is exactly what Jodie wanted when she bet her life. She would feel relieved if he came and confirmed that she was fine."

"What if she was not okay?" Alice asked assumingly, "Would Heinz forget my sister, my two lovely nephews and get together with Jodie?"

"No." Jensen shook his head. "What Jodie's family did would only gradually diminish their past relationships. There would be no good ending. Do you understand?"

"Okay, I admit that what you said is logical, but I dare not take risks. For Grace, I would rather become the object of scorn." Alice looked at Jensen and said, "I can endure it if this is my own affair, but for my sister, I would even risk my life."

As she said this, tears welled up in her eyes. "My sister too. She won't fight for herself so desperately, but for me, she would be willing to pay any price."

"The relationship between you sisters is very deep," Jensen could not help exclaiming. "I admire you guys so much."

Alice sighed and said, "So, if Heinz hurts my sister, I won't be polite to him."
