"You are still slandering Jodie," Queenie barked and shot a fiery glare at Alice.
T m just talking about all kinds of possibilities," Alice said casually. "You can put the blame on Heinz even if there is no evidence but you won't dare listen to other people question you. Aren't you being too unreasonable?"
Queenie wanted to say something upon hearing this.
Before she could speak, Heinz said in a deep voice, "I think what Alice said is not totally impossible, but let's stop here. Everything has to be based on the facts. We will wait for the investigation results."
"You are investigating Jodie?" Queenie was still feeling very shocked.
"Don't look so guilty." Heinz sneered. With a hint of impatience flashing across his eyes, he continued, "I'm just looking for the truth in order to be responsible."
"Yes, I also don't like this matter remaining unclear. It's better to clarify it so that you can live with a clear conscience." After saying that, Alice looked at Heinz and said, "Let's go back now."
"Let's go!"
Heinz nodded.
Jensen looked at Queenie and said, "Madam Stone, knowing when to stop would benefit all of us. If they continue to get entangled with each other, then there will really be no affection left in their relationship."
Queenie was taken aback.
"Once it really gets out of hand, it will take a while for the Lawson family to repay the huge amount of money that Heinz has spent on you over the years. Think about it yourself. Ask yourself if Heinz has really gone too far," Jensen said persuasively.
After saying that, he left too.
Queenie was stunned. She watched as Heinz quickly disappeared from sight. Actually, she also knew that it was not a good thing for things to develop till this point.
She deeply understood that Heinz wanted to sever ties with Jodie and the Lawson family, and that he would never participate in Jodie's life again.
Although she understood this, Queenie still couldn't help but want to help Jodie by scheming.
Eventually, she went back to the ward with regret.
A hint of anticipation sparkled in Jodie’s eyes as soon as she saw that Queenie was back.
She looked at Queenie and wanted to say something but stopped on second thought.
Queenie noticed her expression right away. She knew that Jodie had not gotten over her divorce, and she really couldn't let go of Heinz.
Jodie had exhausted all her means just to change Heinz's mind. However, it seemed that he would not change his mind now.
Even so, Jodie still refused to give up on him. "Auntie, where did you go just now?" She couldn't help but ask softly when she noticed that Queenie was not speaking at all.
Queenie really did not like such a flustered-looking Jodie. She glanced at her and said lightly, "Jodie, I went to the toilet just now."
"No!" Jodie immediately shook her head and said, "Why did you lie to me? I know that you went to look for Heinz because you still care about and feel sorry for me."
Jodie was extremely agitated. Queenie was her only hope who could help her change Heinz's mind.
"Auntie, I know that you care for me, but I also know that you didn't go to the toilet. You went to look for Heinz because I asked my father to follow you out. He saw the four of you talking in the corridor and you were very agitated."
"So what?" Queenie asked.
