"It's none of our business." Lester was not afraid of Jodie, and he had long disliked her. He continued in a deep voice, "Originally, it was none of our business, but you insisted on calling Miss Smith. This is all your fault. If you want to do this to us, we will treat you in the same way."
Both Nathan and Pearlyn saw the marks on Jodie's neck. They were young once, so how could they not know what it meant?
They looked at Jodie and asked, "Jodie, what's wrong with you? What's wrong with your neck?"
"What I do is my freedom. I am divorced," Jodie shouted. "Heinz forced me."
Bang!
Lester slapped Jodie in the face. In the next second, he pressed her face against the wall of the living room.
Then, Lester twisted her other hand.
Lester had long since understood that Miss Smith was the one whom the president loved. With Miss Smith's support, it would be fine to give Jodie a good beating.
Heinz didn't like to fight with women. He was his special assistant, so it was fine for him to do some rough work.
He didn't mind giving this b*tch a beating.
"Miss Lawson, you're divorced. Our President didn't force you to do anything," Lester stated coldly. "Don't slander him anymore. We haven't gotten even with you when it comes to the news, yet you still dare to continue to cause trouble. This is intolerable."
"Heinz, how could you bear to see your former wife be humiliated by your staff like this?" Jodie couldn't break free from Lester and was very angry. She shouted at Heinz, "I used to be your woman. Are you just going to watch like this?"
"Jodie, if you continue to speak without thinking, I will choose to make you suffer a fate worse than death," Heinz answered coldly, with a sinister smile on his lips.
The current Jodie made Heinz feel extremely frustrated. Had he been blind back then to be with her?
Jodie was stunned by his words. As she met his cold gaze, her eyes were full of fear.
There was only disgust in his eyes.
There was no trace of pity.
Lester sneered, "You've long since worn out our President's compassion for your family. It's not only you, but your parents are also in the wrong. Why did you guys have to do this? If all of you didn't do anything, nothing would've happened to any of you."
Nathan's and Pearlyn's faces turned red after listening to his words.
"Heinz." After all, Nathan was a man, so he said first, "What do you want to do? Please give us a quick answer."
"Why? Mr. Lawson, you still feel wronged, don't you?" Lester returned. "From your tone, it seems that you're very impatient."
"I just want to get this over with as soon as possible," Nathan replied. "I don’t know what happened between the both of you. I just don't want to be involved with any of you anymore."
"Mr. Lawson, your daughter provoked Miss Smith. Why didn't you think of not involving yourselves earlier?" Lester retorted.
Just then, Heinz's phone rang.
It was Alex. "President, I found out that Jodie just withdrew 100,000 dollars from her own account last night. This money is exactly the same amount as what Sam received. She should be the one who gave him the money." "Do you have any evidence?" Heinz asked.
"I went to get the surveillance video. The bag that Sam took has fingerprints on it. The results will come out soon," Alex replied.
"How fast will it be out?" Heinz inquired. "I am now in the Lawson family's house. Can they produce the results now?"
"Ten minutes," Alex responded. "I'll supervise the results immediately."
