At the Lawsons' place.
As soon as Jodie entered the door, she felt that something was wrong before she could open her mouth.
When her parents saw her, they immediately broke down in tears. "Jodie, how could you do such a thing? How are we going to live with this embarrassment?"
Her anger rose. Her eyebrows furrowed as she glared at her parents coldly.
"Was that the only way for you to survive in Alsburg? By doing that? How could you ask for such a thing willingly, are you crazy?" Pearlyn questioned.
Her parents had always been prideful people. They didn't think that their daughter would do such a thing, to willingly ask to serve a man. The truth was out, and they had no choice but to face it. They were dumbfounded by the video.
On top of that, Jodie did not seem remorseful about it and was showing her anger towards them. They could not help but break into
tears.
Jodie already felt humiliated enough, and now her parents were condemning her, so she felt even more upset. "You guys think I'm an embarrassment now and I'm no good, so why don't you just end my life then? Regardless, it would be better than me dying in Alsburg."
Her parents froze as they heard her mention death. They seemed to have caught on to something, and they cried even harder.
"Jodie, the last thing we want is for you to end your life, but what happened to you? I'm worried that you won't be able to get married in the future. What did they do to you? Is it true that there were a lot of men?" Pearlyn cried.
"Stop asking about it. The reason I came home was to see you guys and to let you know that I am alive. I want you to continue living your life. I will leave soon and I won't be here to embarrass you anymore. Don't worry," Jodie stated coldly.
"You're leaving?" Nathan's expression fell. For such a thing to happen to his daughter, she was about to leave again after coming home for a short while. Their relatives had been calling them to find out what happened, and reprimanding them for how they taught their daughter for her to be so reckless. Nathan and Pearlyn had only found out what Jodie
did after watching the video.
They had never thought their daughter would turn out like this.
"Yes, I'm leaving. I will leave this place. Regardless, I will be giving you two money for your retirement, so you don't have to worry about having no one to support you."
Upon hearing this, Nathan felt even angrier. "Where are you going to go? Where can you even go in this state? Who is going to accept you? You've made a fool out of yourself now. No matter where you go, people are going to recognize you."
"How have I made a fool out of myself?" Jodie retorted coldly to her father. "Was I supposed to not beg for mercy in that situation and just let them chop my head off? They have sliced someone else's head before; I've seen it. I did not lose control of my bladder under fear and I made it out alive. I don't think it was embarrassing."
"I did what seemed immoral to you guys, but at least I am still alive. I don't think I had any other choice back then in that situation."
"It's better to live than to die. Dad, you want me to live, but live with pride. I'm sorry, but your daughter is unable to live up to that."
"Then why did you take that video?" Nathan mumbled in anger. If the video didn't exist,
then things would not have turned out like this.
"Of course I was not the one that had the video taken. It was taken to sabotage me. Oh, it was Heinz Jones who leaked the video."
