True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 821

Lowell said so much, all in one breath. He sobbed as he poured out his feelings to Candace in a somber voice.

It was the same for Grace and Alice. They heard his words and tears welled up in their eyes.

For a moment, no one spoke and the entire ward went silent. Only Lowell stood there as he quietly looked at his mother with tears in his eyes.

Candace, who was lying on her deathbed, turned her head away from them as she spoke.

She showed an impassive expression. However, her eyes started to well up with tears as they appeared even more crystal clear with her sick face, but no one could see it because she was not facing them.

He continued to ask, "Mom, why don't you apologize to them? Weren't you the one who taught me the importance of being courageous and taking responsibility for what we have done?"

Candace yelled with all her strength, "Get out!

I don't need you to tell me what to do. All of you, get out of here! Don't ever show yourself in front of me again!"

"I'll be flooded with bad memories from my life when I see each one of you. It's all because of you. Without you, I would have had a happy life!"

She vented a series of complaints. Had this been a situation in earlier times when Candace showed up in their lives, Grace would have definitely turned around and left at once.

However, now, she was sorrowful when she heard her mother's bellow of rage. She suddenly realized something and walked to the side of the bed.

Candace hurriedly covered her face with her hand, but the tears in her eyes were visible to Grace. She was flabbergasted for a moment, as it was a surprise to see her mother in tears.

However, it was also because of these tears that Grace felt a lot more relieved.

She sighed softly. Looking at Candace, she calmed herself down.

Her mother also looked at her, almost as if a voiceless creature pleading for help.

It seemed that Grace had her first taste of a mother-daughter bond at that moment. She knew that Candace was doing it for Lowell. Because she had also become a mother, she knew that if they wanted him to lead a new life, they had to make him forget his mother and get rid of his attachment and longing for her. Only in this way could he let go of the past and move on with his life in the future.

That was a good intention. She was trying to fool everyone into believing she was a heartless woman.

Grace's lips twitched gently and she said, "Don't hide it anymore. You have already ended up in this state. Alice and I have nothing more to argue with you. This is retribution for you from God. I think it's enough."

Candace had a confused expression in her eyes. She took a deep breath and swallowed her tears. Her blurry eyes became much clearer afterward.

"We really won't care about it anymore. I just hope that you can be fair to Lowell. Don't be so cruel to an eight- year- old child," Grace repeated herself.

"Just allow him to have some positive moments at the end of your life. Tell him that his mother actually loves him very much."

"That will be much better than yelling at him as you did. He'll grow up knowing that you had no choice and he won't complain about you or society. Instead, he can become an independent person with a healthy personality."

"That will be a wonderful way in return for your hard work instead of your way of kicking him out like this, making him tremble and seek refuge with us."

These words caused Candace to furrow her brow as tears once again welled up in her eyes.

Tears gathered in the corners of her eyes, but she just gawked at Grace and did not say a word. Somewhat hoping that perhaps Grace said all those things in her heart.

However, she pressed her lips together and said apathetically, "You can go now. Whether it's my fault or not, that is all there is to my life."

Lowell pounced on her as well, "Mom, aren't you one bit touched by Grace's words?"

Candace pulled a long face as she sneered, "Be touched? Why should I be touched? My heart has long gone, so I don't need to be moved. Get out of here and don't waste my time."

He burst into tears and cried in a low voice, "Mom, how can you do this? Why can't you admit that you are wrong? Why can't you tell the truth? Why can't you face the music of your past? Why do you have to treat my sisters and me like this? How can you be so cruel?"

His string of questions were so heartwrenching.

Candace remained unmoved and replied monotonously, "Don't ask me why and don't show up here again. I don't want to see any of you ever again."

She was very repulsive.

Alice did not speak the whole time. With tears in her eyes, she slowly walked in from the door and went to the bedside to look at Candace.

Alice said word by word, "I really don't know what your heart is made of. How can you be so ruthless?"

"Do you know how it feels to have no mother from childhood?"

"We're not confident. Do you know how we fell into Marry's plan?"
