True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 838

Heinz's face darkened.

He had never seen such an old man who was so thick- skinned over what he had done before.

He said in a low voice, "Do you think that everyone will forgive you if you admit your mistakes like this?"

At least he felt that his mother, who left with a grudge, would not forgive the man in front of him.

To him, Lawrence was the one who brought misfortune to his mother's life, causing her to pass away early.

"No, you are wrong. I never want to ask forgiveness from anybody. I have already thought of the consequences when I do anything," Lawrence said calmly.

"You're really thick-skinned!" Heinz shouted. He turned his face away and took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down.

He was ashamed of himself for being too soft- hearted just now, because he thought that his old man had turned over a new leaf.

How could someone like him admit his mistake?

Would he truly bear his responsibility?

So all of it was just his own fantasy. Heinz felt he was too childish.

Lawrence raised his head and said, "I admit that I am indeed a little shameless! It was my blatant attempt to marry your mother, not because I loved her, but due to her family background."

Heinz frowned and glowered at him.

He continued to say candidly, "You are also aware of your grandfather's power. Actually, I was under some pressure to marry your mother and I haven't been in love with her all these years."

"Why did you marry her if you don't love her at all? What you're saying now is nothing more than shirking your responsibility!"

Lawrence replied in a low voice, "If you think so, I won't disagree with you. I'm not here to quarrel with you. Instead, I just want to let you know how I felt during these years."

"What makes you think that I'm willing to listen to your feelings? No matter how you feel, it's all your own fault. What does it have to do with me?"

Lawrence nodded and was not discouraged. He looked at Heinz and said lightly, "Well, it's my own fault. As soon as I married your mother, people started gossiping about me. Everyone thought that I was protected by your grandfather. I admit that I felt stripped of all my dignity as a man when I married her."

"If it was wrong, then everything was wrong from the beginning. It was my blatant attempt to gain your grandfather's influence when I married her. That was why I was doomed to be unhappy throughout my life. Your mother also led a miserable life because of me, and then you were affected too."

"It makes you feel that life is terrible."

"But I thought you have experienced a failed marriage too. The marriage between you and Jodie should help you realize that sometimes love and marriage can't be fulfilled at the same time."

"To me, it should be for love that you married Jodie, but you didn't lead a happy life afterward. In fact, you two broke up eventually, so I think you should be able to understand me."

Heinz was dumbfounded for a moment. He thought that his father was really detestable.
