True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 859

"You're so worked up about this?" Grace smiled, and again, delivered a backhanded statement.

"Since you want to know so badly if you will be transferred or not, I might not heed to it."

"You're messing with me!" Candace's fury kicked in when she realized Grace was spinning her around. She growled, "Even if you hate me that much, do you have to play tricks on me like this?"

"Why wouldn't I play tricks on you?" Grace raised her voice. "Given the things you committed, it's only fair for me to play tricks on you."

"You've gone too far."

"Speak for yourself!" Grace said in a deep voice, "Who are playing tricks on whom? You threw your son at us and demanded us to raise him, yet you can't even be honest with us. What kind of mother are you?"

"You won't treat Lowell well, will you?" Candace was triggered, her heart was amess.

Grace suddenly thought about the words Heinz had said to Lawrence, that Lowell wouldn't be treated well. They were definitely not aware of Lowell's current situation.

Did Lawrence say something to Lowell? Grace began to worry at the moment. She felt that she should weave a lie so the situation would appear as if it was real.

Grace smiled and said, "Bullseye! Lowell is being beaten up every day. You sent him to us. You should have known what would happen. I am the same as you, a petty woman, why should I be good to your son?"

"Lowell was beaten by you? You are hitting Lowell?"

"You're right! Of course, I have to beat him. Only when he suffers can I take revenge on you."

Candace was stunned and suddenly recalled the state of Lowell when he had come the day before. She shook her head and mumbled, "No, Lowell was still speaking for you when he came yesterday. He was definitely not abused. If he had been, surely he would not be like this. You are lying to me! You are testing me!"

Grace realized that Candace's intuition as a mother was still very sharp.

It was indeed surprising that she could guess all of these.

Grace thought for a moment before she said, "You're right on every count, and it should have been. Do you know why I didn't bring him today? Because Lowell is injured. We find it very unfair in our hearts. I wanted to be kind to him at the beginning, but I found that it was too difficult an act to carry out, so I hit him. And perhaps we will continue with it in the future!"

Candace shook her head as if to convince herself to not believe what Grace had said. "You're wrong. How could it be like this?"

"Why can't it be like this? Why should I be good to your son?"

"You treat Alice well!"

"That's because I thought Alice shares the same father as me and we depend on each other, so it follows that I should be kind to her. Even now, we still don't know who Lowell is, yet you continue to keep it a secret from me. You wouldn't even tell me the identity of my biological father. Do you think that I can pretend that I'm fine with all that you've done, and repay you with kindness?"

"Even if you want to settle the score with me now, it's meaningless. I've reached the end of my life." Candace still had a cold attitude, without any remorse over what she had done before.

"It seems that you are not going to tell me who my biological father is." Grace said, "Then tell me, who is Lowell's father?"

Candace panicked and shouted angrily, "It's none of your business."

"If you don't have the nerve to divulge who Lowell's father is, I think this person must be more shocking than my father. Let's wait and see. I'll transfer you to another hospital tonight." Grace took out her phone and called Heinz. "Heinz, go on with the transfer procedure!"

"I don't want to be transferred to a different hospital!" Candace shouted at Grace all of sudden. "I'm staying here!"

Grace held her phone, latched her gaze on Candace for a while, and said, "That is out of the question."
